I love the way School House thinks about wine. It's all about what the vineyard gives. This Zinfandel has a nose of raspberry, cherry, anise and just a hint of spice. The flavor is red ripe fruit with just a little cedar box. Beautiful finish. Just delicious.

Nose: lemon, citrus, minerality, flowers. Flavors: grapefruit, herbs, nice creaminess and acidity. This wine is a fantastic combination of old and new world. Received this as a gift and really enjoyed it.

Enjoyed this wine tonight. Aromas of bright red fruit, charred oak, and leather. Flavors of red fruit, prunes (but not raisin-y), charred, smoky oak. Still has a very dry, but not overly tannic finish. Finish lingers for a long time. This wine still has plenty of life.

Didn't take formal notes. Very enjoyable wine that improved with an hour or more of air. It developed a depth of flavor that didn't exist upon pop n pour.

Sorry to say that this wine appears over the hill. Pretty simple and flat. If you have 2006 Oregon Pinots, drink up. They don't seem to age well.

I love this wine. Not your typical Napa Pinot Noir by any means. Has a soft, velvety mouth feel and is much more feminine than many Napa offerings. Delicious flavor of sour red fruits, cherry, cranberry, and some strawberry. A nice minerality and a hint of rhubarb round out this delicious wine.

I love this wine! Nose of bright red fruits with a hint of vanilla and baking spice. Delicious smooth flavor of bright red fruits with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a little licorice. Perfect balance with a long, beautiful, smooth finish. Seriously wish I had much more of this.

Wonderful nose of mocha and dark fruits. Flavor was somehow both dark and red fruits, licorice, dusty and rich with some faint meat flavors. Even some caramel flavors, but not in a sweet way if that makes any sense. Super smooth. Awesome. I don't care what people say about Insignia. I LOVED this wine.

Continue to love these wines. Very delicate, rose and light fruit on the nose. Flavors light raspberries, slight spice and some forest floor. Just a hint of that Oregon funk. I will hold my other bottles for awhile. I think this has room to improve.

Nice example of California Chardonnay. Flavors of pear, honey, and a little vanilla, with a nice acidity. Well balanced wine that I enjoyed.

I loved this wine. Opened it 5 hours before consuming (no decant) and I think that made a big difference. It had earthy notes that left no doubt this was Old World, but enough fruit (red raspberries, cherries) to make it delicious. Very smooth with a nice acidity. Great wine.

A much bigger, darker, and more aggressive wine than I am used to from CdP. I really enjoyed it, but I am not a typical CdP fan so it might be more of a stylistic thing for me. Flavor was sour red fruits, with some floral and even bacon. Nicely balanced tannins and good structure with a super smooth flavor and finish. Went great with tri-tip off the grill.

Hard to get over the significant oak flavor. Red berries and charcoal on the nose. Decent forest and red fruit flavor but lots of fresh oak. Not bad, but not great either.

On the nose you get some hints oak, and the resulting vanilla, along with a very fragrant raspberry. It is clear that this is not an old world style wine. The flavors of this wine immediately explode in dark raspberries and dark chocolate. However, this wine is not a completely over-the-top fruit bomb. There is a very nice balsamic and tart cranberry characteristic in the mid-palate that balances the front-end fruit nicely. This wine is opulent and big, but not terribly deep. It is tasty, which is not a bad thing, but it isn't going to change anyone's world.

Nose of Cassis, vanilla, and very faint red fruits. Flavor is pure dust and chalk. This is a very "old barn floor" type of wine. Not a ton of fruit. Good quality wine, but I prefer just a little more fruit.

Super dark color. Fantastic nose! Dark cherry, flint, and cigar box. Spent a lot of time just smelling this wine. Flavor of really dark cherries and baking spiced. A little hint of coffee and a super long finish. A relatively youthful wine, but probably won't improve a lot with time. Enjoying this wine a lot.

Big boy Pinot here. Even at 6 years old this wine still had some opening to do after popping and pouring. After about 30 minutes in glass this had a great velvety, dark, rich, creamy fruit that is super pure. There is still some vanilla and oak but really nicely integrated. This isn't my kind of Pinot, but I really enjoyed this bottle for what it is.
Big, big thanks to the very generous individual who gave this me this bottle. It was a treat to be able to try it.

Great wine with a cola and strawberry nose. Flavors of strawberry and cranberries, with a little mushroom or forest floor and a crisp acidity. A great wine with just a little heat on the back end. I will stash the remainder of my '09s away for awhile as the '08 had this little bit of heat on first taste, but became more balanced with time. Still a great wine that is perfect for food.
