Nice neat closure. Deep ruby with massive glycerol legs in the glass. Big cassis nose on opening and maybe sweet oak notes. Big plum and blackcurrant - slightly overripe and certainly a massive wine - very Parker early noughties style? Nice finish with plenty of tannins giving a good indication that this should have many years left. Having said that this is in a pretty good place right now. Drink or keep - win-win wine.

Still quite a vibrant purple although this was decanted and did throw off a decent amount of sediment for its age and has a corresponding decent size clear rim. Nose is big and farmyard funky with a big spoon of blood. Palate is juicy blackberry, tart, taut, smoky, saline and quite delicious. Nice long finish with smooth grained tannins. Gosh - very good!

Guess I'm the only one with this cuvee still. But if you've got it, drink it. Nice weekday wine with usual Rhone characteristics. Complexity, barnyard nose, not too tannic. Have fun.

Little seepage on the cork. Colour somewhere between ruby and garnet. Great nose with black fruit, eucalyptus, liquorice and blood. Soft palate with dark fruit - almost blackcurrant boiled sweet. Tannins are soft but rather intrusive and drying on the finish - nice but on this showing the tannins are running stronger than the fruit. Will be interesting to check out the next bottle.

4/3/21, 12:35 PM - That’s what I was expecting myself - bottle had a noticeably low fill level for the vintage so I am hoping it’s a one off. Have had some great 04’s recently - Talbot, Leoville Barton and Las Cases.

Still very pale gold with a distinct greenish hue - so spite its age no real sign of oxidation (closure is Stelvin btw). Nose has distinct white stone fruit with a hint of lime - initially a slight petrol note although this seemed to blow off after opening. Wonderful full unctuous palate with white peach, grapefruit and lime, but the acidity quite muted and a lovely mouthfeel with a long, long stone fruit citrus finish. Very far from over the hill at 11 years young. What can one say more? Bravo!
