2 + hour decant. At peak, developed lovely tertiary flavors and evolved over 3 hours into a classic old style at peak claret. No tremendous concentration, and even a bit of Bret, defined this old school wine. Drink now!

Corked!
Red
More modern style Gigondas, but drinking well. Could age 5 more years.
Red
Extremely well made interesting wine. From organically grown grapes planted in 1955. Old school, old world style, almost Bordeaux like. Can age another 5 years easily if well stored, but drinking well now with one hour + decant. Dark fruits, dark cherry, bramble, a little emerging cigar box aromas.
White - Sparkling
Much better than expected. Small Grower / Producer. Yeast notes. Not a long finish, super dry, but for $30, exceptional PQR.
Red
A good, well balanced old style Saperavi.
White
Still youthful, a classic Alsatian Pinot Gris, pineapple, melon flavors.
Red
2015 Château Greysac Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Old style Medoc. 13% ABV. Food friendly. At this price a terrific value.

Holding up very well, faded dark fruits, at peak, or slightly past peak.

White
Still ageable, but probably drinking at peak now.
White
A stellar Sancerre from a solid producer. A shame the prices on Sancerre is going up so much, now equal in price to a village Chablis.
Red
Really good, drinking well now, a bit tawny around edge on the color when tipping the glass, but the wine has years of life left, really good value!

2016 Castello di Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva Chianti Classico DOCG Sangiovese Blend, Sangiovese (view label images)
Very good, can easily age another 3 years
White
Stellar Riesling from a great producer. 2020 was an excellent vintage in the Fingerlakes. Could age 10 years.
Red
Still young, needs a long decant or 5 more years for the grippy tannins to mellow and integrate.

Typical jammy, slightly sweet Zin, but of higher quality than others in this style. I am not personally a fan of this style Zin, but if you are a decent example.

1966 Château Léoville Barton St. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Gorgeous text book past peak claret nose on open, a bit thin / acidic on the palette. But over the course of 2 hours over dinner the wine blossomed into a wonderful ‘66. Past peak for sure, but graceful, dried cedar box, dried fruits, medium finish. Acquired in 1970, so bottle condition / storage was not an issue. Very high shoulder fill. A testament to both this Chateau, and the often overlooked ‘66 vintage.
Red
A bit hot, decent Rioja, but not as good as their wines from past decades.
Red
Gorgeous round fruit, super well balanced despite 15% alc. A fantastic value.
Red
Still a lot of life left. Beautiful, after about an hour decant. Dark berries, super well balances. 15% alc. But it does not drink hot.
Red
Really good, could actually age another 5 years. At this point has started to develop nice deep flavors. Decanted 3 hours before dinner. An amazing value, comparable to a $50 + Cali Zin, or Southern French Malbec.
Red
Really well made, structured blend. Syrah, cab, petit Verdot and chenin blanc. Label says 15%, it drinks like a 13% Bordeaux. Could age another 5 years, dark fruits, bramble, blackberry, good acid. A super value at this price. In France would be an $80 wine.
Red
Small family winery. Decent, not great value for a popular Sicilian grape.
Red
Classic old school Cali Cab. Balanced, subtle, great food wine.
White
Classic Alsatian / Finger Lakes Style Riesling. Great nose. Not much of the petrol nose on this one but all of the apricot / pineapple fruit is there. Medium finish.

I think this would age - properly cellared for another 4 - 5 years, developing more Riesling tertiary flavors.
Red
Good value, a bit old world style cab, with a hint of Bret. Almost Bordeaux like.
White
Really interesting wine with a lot of character. Almost a chard, Riesling cross in flavors, with high acid.
Red
2019 Kanonkop Cape Blend Kadette Stellenbosch Pinotage Blend, Pinotage (view label images)
Great value!
White
Drinking really well. A well made Alsatian style from a stellar vintage in the Finger Lakes.
White
Almost slightly maderized - in a good way. An unusual small farm made Italian wine. Great for the price.
White - Sweet/Dessert
With a bit more age, this has smoothed out and is drinking very well right now.
Red
2017 The Three Foxes Swartland Mourvèdre Blend, Mourvèdre (view label images)
Very well made wine. Ripe Strawberries, classic Mourvèdre flavors, good body. From France or Calif, this would be a $50 wine.
Red
2021 La Kiuva Rouge de Vallée Vino da Tavola Nebbiolo Blend, Nebbiolo (view label images)
Always a good value, well made lighter Nebbiolo.
Red
A lighter wine, but very pretty. Good value

Needs a few hour decant, big, but well integrated tannins, good dark fruit. Could age another 5 years
Red
Good value, well made, small production wine. More old world style than new world.
Red
Needs air, a bit of spirtz, better the 2nd day. But certainly an interesting wine.
Red
A terrific value, would be a $50 + wine if it came from California. Could age another 3- 4 years as well. Dark fruits, good acid. Needs a 3 hour decant.

2016 Bodegas Muga Rioja Reserva Tempranillo Blend, Tempranillo (view label images)
Great wine, needs time
Red - Fortified
In my cellar since purchase in 1982. Last of my ‘77’s. It did not age quite as well as the legendary ‘63’s - but still, at 48 years old, this bottle exhibited aged Port at its very best. Especially for those who are looking for finess and elegance not raw power in their aged Ports.

Great value, textbook Loire Cab. Franc. Could age another 5 years well cellared. 2017 was not the best year in that region, so I would want to try other vintages.
Red
Still can age more, decanted 2 hours before dinner, began to open up. Let age another 4 years.
