light in color, quite frsh and unevolved aromatically, but also should note that despite being a Moelleux grand annee, this is lacking in the acidity and precision that I would be looking for in a truly great botrytized vouvray. sure it was interesting, but I wouldn't age it further

despite cooler vintage, acid is still lacking and the wine comes off as in need of more freshness. good, but not one for long ageing

slight effervescence gives the impression of freshness even though the acidity of this wine is insufficient for further bottle aging, and gives the wine the impression of being barely balanced. maximum legal RS for a trocken style too.

rose and cherry, but also a red cranberry showing underripeness and non of the mouthfeel indicating optimal ripeness. a bit cynical for such a great producer

thin and vegetal, lacking much fruit, though there is a richness to body and color that seems in line with Clerico house style

stony and reductive even under cork closure. elevated in acidity but lacking in fruit or relly much fragrance at all. comes off as a thin tart white wine.

ripe fruit, precise minerality, no signs of oak. has the same flouresence to its fruit that you get on Kiwi SB. needs a good chill
Red

14.5% ABV. ripe and soft, but overwhelmingly fruit driven at the moment, and struggling to keep enough freshness to balance the fullness of body. though there is certainly intensity and concentration here, im not so sure about complexity to round out the black fruit here

fantastic. cool vintage le clos seems to have better balance than more lauges examples, though perhaps the 2011 is a bit short on tannins which will inhibit long term development. evolved in glass positively over two hours.
White - Off-dry

Advanced nose with firne dill and golden honeyed fruit. At first smelled slightly corked but that blew off by day two. Acid perfectly balances residual sugar. Still has a decade left

Showing signs of oxidation to the fruit, nutty. Advanced for its age despite excellent storage. Be careful

Reduced sulfur and petrol initially, opens with air into lactic and lees driven tones with fresh apples and lemon. Malo here. Interesting though perhaps unexpected

Golden honeyed tones to fruit but still piercing pyrazine. Slightly tired and disjointed

Pretty aromatics, hollow on the midpalate. Thoug it hasn’t deteriorated arpmatically it’s on the decline

Golden colored. Purity of botrytis, Apple and pear. Acid well balanced to body and residual sugar

Perfectly integrated oak. Shows more of the vermentino in day one, precise and hides its high alcohol 14% perfectly. Day two, fell apart, aromatics could not mask an ugly streak of heat

Acidity is not sufficient to balance the residual sugar, leaving an intensely concentrated wine that is simply too sweet

Oak perfectly married to Chenin, taught, mineral driven and dry. No oxidation to perfectly fresh fruit, no sign of a hot vintage, other than the power of the wine.

intense, concentrated, red fruits flowers and stems. no oak. crazy high acidity. but marred by excess VA. id love it if i didn't hate it.

tended toward underripeness, emphasizing acid and lacking the balance that so many other 2016s seem to possess.
Red
huge brett on opening, needed 10 hours to settle down, and even then this is an acid driven vintage with a relatively thin body and very little ripeness to fruit.
White
a whiff of VA on opening that needed 3 hours of aggressive decanting to blow off. slightly oxidative with EA giving nuttiness and savory tones. the acid is high and tense, the fruit a bit overripe, its a aradox but so great with butter and soy sauces.
