The hallmark elegance of the vintage shines through. I like it. Very kirsch on the nose.

One of my best bottles. Absolutely great nose, but lacking a bit of refinement on the palate (that said it was served next to the likes of Latour and Margaux '83..)

Has evolved relatively well for the vintage but the imbalances that are the hallmark of the vinrage are there. But for the vintage it is a good wine that is still alive.

Kept since release. Not corked, not cooked (I assume), just awful.

Young, vigourous with delicious complex nose (sousbois, mushrooms but also red fruit). Balanced expressive palate with juicy ripe fruit, excellent acidity. Good stuff.

Excellent wine, drinking well currently but lacking a bit of finesse.

Remains reletively closed. Not a particularly good time to open. Excellent fruit in terms of ripeness, purity and freshness. Quite powerful. Give at least 2 more years.

At a good stage of its development. Excellent as usual.

Coche nose - rich, with a good deal of depth and complexity, but a bit subdued. Palate very rich and vibrant. With a more expressive nose the score would have been higher.

In line with earlier bottles. Not bad, but for the terroir and the vintage disappointing. A wasted opportunity really. Luckily this sort of mediocrity is on the decline in Burgundy.

Entering maturity. Excellent fruit and balance, with exemplary tension between fruit, acidity and tannins. It combines the lushness of the vintage and the relatively austerse style of the house. I actually liked this quite a lot.

Brilliant textbook Chablis, especially at that price level.

Very syrah. Very expressive nose with burnt notes, coffee, tar. Palate follows through on that. Excellent fruit but also a bit heavy and jammy for my taste.

Not sure what was wrong about this. Not corked (I think), not cooked (I think), but just very muted. To be revisited.

Just about incredible value for this appellation. Focused, pure, balance.

Not a bad wine but very hard to enjoy. If anything the tannins are becoming even more dominant now that the fruit is going downhill.

Well-made wine but a tad too sweet for me. I would have liked a bit more structure and somewhat less opulent sweet fruit.

Good, but has not aged well I think. Has lost its vibrancy but has gained little else. Perhaps a dumb phaze? I would not bet on it.

Not very expressive on the nose. Buttery nutty style of meursault, quite full bodied and almost heavy for a 2007. Long finish, with perrieres minerality finally making an appearance.

Quite brilliant. Precise and pure. Good tension and very 2007 in this respect. Mineral intensity and power.

really superb. A nose with a lot going on, reminiscent of Tuscan automn forest (never been there, but you get the picture). Palate follows through in complexity, with acadity and stilly dusty tannins giving structure. Last bottle, alas.

Oak dominates at first. Better on second and third night. Excellent balance and depth. Complex wine of character and sense of place. Regretably my last bottle...

Not my favourite vintage but Blanchot should be among the better wines given the exposure. It is excellent but it is typical of the vintage. Needs more time.

Still structured and young. Good but almost austere fruit. Lacks a bit of hedonistic appeal, at least at this stage.

Excellent wine but much too young. Limited aromatic complexity at this stage, the oak overwhelming everything.

Fabulou nose; very intense for a 2008. Structured on the palate, but clearly well-balanced with excellent ripeness and fruit. This should turn out great.

Coming together nicely. Good but not spectacular nose. In the mouth the wine is far more integrated than on earlier occassions with spectacularly pure fruit (and lots of it, be it short of jammy and overdone) and big, velvety tannins.

This was never a particularly good wine. At first it was closed, now has developed oxidised notes, without much added aromatic complexity.

Nicely evolved Grenache. A bit rustic and dusty, but I like that. Aromatically there is a lot going on. Drink now.
