Intense. A wine built from tannin and acid. Leather + horse + chinese herbs, super savory, with just enough of a lick of framboise on the middle palate to lend it sufficient fruit generosity. Long. Great food wine.

Exotic nose. Weighty, luscious peach palate, very forward in the mouth. Some sawdust and much florals and perfume. Needs more acid, although slight bitter apricot pits provides some balance. Short, un-earth-shattering.

Base of neck fill. Cork came out in one piece but was soaked through. complex nose with spice and very volatile lift. Palate is smooth, with a nice salted caramel edge, but is not very even with a slight dip in the middle. Finishes long with a hint of licorice.

Quite complex nose, some char, volatile lift. Very fine, but not a lot, of sediment. Plum and blackberry pie with soft spice, some earth, licorice, and dustiness on the palate, finishing with slightly bitter tannins and a hint of black pepper. Very long, but also some alcoholic heat. Not for the long term.
White
Quite yellow. Marked as 13% alcohol. Cashews, peach, touch of dried apricot on nose, oak evident. Palate is very powerful and lemony but oak pokes out. It's intense and long, but also comes across as a touch disjoint. Dregs of bottle on second day presents much better integration, with a juicy fruits character developing. Leave for a few years and hope that the fruit is up to the oaking. 88 on day one moving to 90 on day two.

Very light and transparent. Very thrilling acidity, builds tension. Strawberry/red cherry. Some strawberry pie with air. Green streak evident; herbs. This wine is complete and complex, and while light bodied, fills my taste-buds with joy. Touch of oxidation on the finish on day 2 suggests that this is a drink soon proposition.

More red fruited and elegant than the 2013. Both wines show very deft handling of the oak, lending a very creamy texture to the middle palate. This wine shows some meaty development compared to when I had it last year, but its back palate still has the very attractive soft acid driven, long finish. I think that it should change into something quite attractive in a few years.

Wondrous wine. Big. Earth, meat, dark fruit, chocolate. Chalky texture still to the tannins. Long. Can still develop.

Sweet/sour nose, very gamey. When first opening, got an overwhelming sense of raisins flooding out of the glass. With air, touch of chocolate, camphor, bitter herbs. This wine has is better than the Flaxman due to the greater fruit intensity. Nice bitter quality to the tannins with good soft acids, finish is long of medium intensity. It still has a choppy, slightly unfinished character to it, but this one is worth holding for a few years to see what it settles into.

I still derive little personal enjoyment from this wine despite its multifacets of great things: super, complex nose, very intense dark fruits, bold, especially in its chewy, blocky, tannic structure. A wine of contemplation: each tiny sip floods the mouth with flavour. Yet somehow, it feels a bit angular to me.

Expensive for what it is. Interesting nose: Smokey herbs and twigs. Light bodied, does have some complexity, and a fairly long, if not terribly rich finish, but it also comes across as being a touch unfinished and 'natural'.
