Nice value. With some creamy Havarti this tastes like Montrachet. On its own there's melon, citrus, butter, and balance.

Had a sample at a tasting event, this stood out for it's structure, balance, firmness, and earthy complexity. I can't believe I just wrote this. Can't explain it. Very nice. Must have been a lucky bottle.

Needs a lot of air time, I nursed this over three days. It tastes like a modern day Caymus, you know what I mean. The formula is there.

I've been drinking this bottling for many years, I've noticed that the acidity and lifted fruit has really dominated, much like the Montebello bottling. Anyway, this used to be more meaty and chewy. Not lately. This was enjoyable but in a bright, zesty, acidic, lifted fruit kind of way, very similar to the '14. Only 13.8%ABV

Just opened so probably not giving this wine its due. Tasted at TW. Medium bodied and seems like there's some merit here with more air time.

This was much as expected, dark violet, almost inky, berry aromas, flavors of blue and black fruits with mild spice notes. Medium to full bodied, long and persistent legs, enough tannin to make it tasty and delicious at times. I found this not to be pop n pour ready, in fact, it was much better on the second day for me.

Light to medium bodied, medium ruby color. A lot of bell pepper and green pepper on the nose and palate. Label on bottle says 90pts from Suckling. Not my thing.

Opened this to help cope with hurricane Dorian. Took me two days to finish this bottle, a few things I kept thinking about. This is very expensive. this is what Caymus Cab used to taste like in its best vintages/days. Also, Cliff Lede Stag's Leap is now a value Cab in my opinion. I guess I'm living in the past but still can't help but feel some disappointment with this.

Dark violet but not opaque, ripe, juicy, dry. Very nice wine but the finish was a bit lacking. Slightly hot at times and acid seemed too high. Nevertheless the intensity was there over the course of three days. Thought I was going to score this higher, will probably drink better in a few years.

Better than the first bottle, still very ripe, sweet and approachable. This bottle seemed more harmonious, and fun to drink. I'm not detecting significant tannins like other reviewers.

Kind of hot at times, definitely could use some time in the bottle. On the third day this came together in a crowd pleaser, oaky, sweet, comfort wine kind of style.

Hard to know where to start with this wine. Here goes, big, bold, open and broad style, cuts a wide swath on the palate. Took me three days to finish this big brute and the alcohol at times seemed hot. Bottle claims 14.8% but it felt higher. Interesting that I scored this 94 on the first day but it faded a bit after that.

Three years since my first bottle. This wine immediately showed more complexity on the nose and palate. Earthy aromas and flavors, cassis, cocoa, and hints of coffee. Shows elegance, sophistication, and poise.
But, I couldn't stop thinking I should have waited another year on this.

Time to see what this label tastes like again. My last review was the '13. Once again this is an amazing example of an affordable American Cab. Ripe, juicy, balanced. Very tasty.

This wine requires no food, it's a meal all by itself. A comfort style wine, crowd pleaser. Residual sugar is noticeable. Ripe and sweet tannins, decent depth, mildly spicy Cabernet fruit. 100% Cab. Much better than the regular '15 bottling.

Met my expectations. The emphasis is on fruit not oak here. Cherry, berry, cranberry, and some cassis notes. Not a heavy wine but not a light weight either. Finishes with good grip. Showed it's best on the second day. Would buy again.

Super heavy bottle, anyone else notice this? The wine needs a few hours to start to shine and then it is glorious. Big, bold, vibrant, fresh, muscular! Would have scored this higher but the length seemed a bit short. In other words I wouldn't describe this as rich. But I'll still buy more.

Amazing power, density, and length. Full bodied, but not heavy. Very primary at this young stage in its life but so dry and ripe too. This will age with the best of them.

At the initial pop n pour this was too sweet and filled with bubble gum like flavors. An hour later it started to sing and became dry, tannic, and firm. Nice value at $20 or so.

On the first day this was disappointing. The mid-palate was weak and short, the fruit was medium to light. On the third day this gained weight with sweet Napa like fruit. I expected a lot since this bottle now has the Coombsville label on it. The '13 had more oomph, boldness, and power.

Looks, tastes, and sniffs like Pomerol of the highest order. Complexity is elusive at this young age but this will score much higher from me in 2025 and beyond. Amazing how integrated the tannins are already.

Comparing this to the great '13 vintage...this carries a bit more oak influence, not quite as deep fruited, virtually no mineral component. More of an open and ready to go style, but just by degrees.

This was quite an evolution, popped and poured and it was ready to go. Ripe, soft, smooth, and open, medium bodied. Oh and lest I forget sweet too.

Second day this gains firmness, acidity, and some tannin. Sheds the sweetness. I still prefer the '12,'13, and the '14.

This is like some vintages of PC for half the price. Very French, has a pronounced spine of iron/graphite balanced by dark plum/cherry fruit. Well structured, balanced, and a pleasure to drink, tannins are polished but with grip, give it plenty of air time to really appreciate.

Overall, I'm disappointed with this wine. I bought one bottle as a trial thinking I'd buy more. I was expecting to score this a 94 point wine. A lot of oak aromas and flavors, and I don't mean vanilla oak. I'm talking about wood oak. A big turn-off for me. This wine is lacking density, concentration, and focus for the price. Three days to finish.
