Unusual in the sense that the acidity level is very high, and may be off-putting for some. Otherwise, this is a great wine, with some evolution aromas mixing with great fruit.
Could last 10 years more, easily. The nose is fantastic also.

What strikes me more on this wine, is the feeling of elegance, and balance.
Great freshness (no alcohol feeling whatsoever).
Some people around the table found it too young. I think on the contrary that it is in a perfect place right now !

Drank a little too late. Aromas are starting to fade away a little. Still a very nice bottle, with bright red fruit, and not too much sugar for an aleatico. The previous bottle a few years ago way better.

One of the three or four best burgundy (a Claude Dugat charmes chambertin may have been even better) I had the chance to drink, and for sure the best Lignier.

Perfect maturity, but could be drunk in 5 or 10 years easily.

Still lots of (mainly) red fruit, but some secondary aromas as well. Length it top notch, and is even topped by the silkiness of the mouth feel.

Simply put, one of three 3 or four best champagnes I have ever drunk.
Virtually perfect on the power/richness as well as on the elegance side. Just perfect now. Fully mature. Incredible complexity of aromas.

Reminiscent of a good marsanne-roussane blend, with a bit less "oomph!"

for some people, this could be overwelmmingly acidic. for me, its not the case, it just brings some dynamism in the attack of the wine.
Precisely at the right time to drink. The aromatics are textbook aged northern rhône.
tip: Surprisingly good with cheese (brie de melun), which is unusual for a red wine.

a little bit young. tannins could be more elegant (i know its barolo, it will never be super smoth ..). Decant several hours. or wait 5 years.

Otherwise, very good wine indeed.

Not for everybody. Share lots of common points with orange wines from friuli. Maybe a little bit more acidity than usualy seen in those italian wines. Still it's 14.5, so drinking temperature is very important to the final experience. Very complex, nose and mouth. A multitude of dried fruits (esp. apricot), orange peel, and so on. Not very elegant, but so intriguing ! Length is only average.

On the nose, honey and apples are obvious. great balance, there is a feeling of ligthness to this wine that makes it so easy to drink. Good minerality on the palate too.

Wood is still present, but in a good way (i.e. not destroying the fruit), as a previous review said already.
Complex, fresh (for a condrieu), and very very easy to drink.

Incredibly young ! The wood is still very present, which is a litlle bit disturbing, since it was less present a few years ago !

Not for every one : there is very (very) heavy acidity to balance the sugar. Personnaly, i love it, but some may dislike it. great figs and corinth rasins aromas. great length.

Just a perfect kabinett ! That is: incredibly easy and satisfying to drink, without beeing overly complex. Nice typical riesling notes.

Great complexity. All the beloved garigue aromas on the nose. The mooth is almost sensual, which is not always the case with Barral. This is mature, so drink up !

Unfortunaltely, just a small trace of cork ! But so small that the wine can still be enjoyed. Concentrated, long, pure. Huge potential. Keep it at least 5 more years for maturity. The potential may be around 94-95 points !

Acidity is only just adequate, and the overall balance is satisfactory.
Aromatics are very interesting (lost of flowers and herbs), and
very different from burgundy.
