Too early... needs time to evolve and for tannins to settle down and add some nuances to the overpowering fruit

Opened, decanted, drank over 2 hours. Knowing this was young, wanted to benchmark 1st of 4 bottles. Tight, tight...nose incredibly fruit forward with big currant... can tell this will develop more, but will be a while. Vanilla, oak present in balanced way. Dark fruit on palate, mixed with hints of chocolate. Later got a hint of blueberry on nose and some leather. Lots of time for this one... will try again in 2 or 3 years.

Decanted for 45 minutes. Subtle oak/vanilla on the nose with some hints of sweet fruit (oddly enough, banana/kiwi). Mix of red and dark fruit on the palate, along with hints of leather, smoke, cocoa, dust, consistent with Cab Franc varietal. More left in this one -- could have waited another couple of years to try. Good body, somewhat abrupt dusty finish but not inconsistent with Cab Franc tastes in the past.

Opened one bottle after buying three at Graziano tasting room. Opened and drank over 3 hours. After 2 hours open, notes of cherry, green herbs, black pepper, and vanilla with a slight hint of bacon fat on the nose. Lots of bright cherry flavor balanced with earthiness and a hint of mushroom. More structure here than expected and curious how this might change over the next 2-3 years. Tasting a bit hot, which isn't surprising at 14.5% ABV.

Bought a 1/2 case of 750mL and opened/decanted for 1 hr to sample after pick-up. I agree with most of tasting notes - red meat, fig, leather, crushed herbs, and slight tar on the nose. Dark fruit and pomegranate with good mouth feel...this had more fruit than I imagined given its age, and also had tannins that are very refined and mellowed out at his point. Lots of finesse with mellowed out tannins from bottle age along with some good fruit. Finish is balanced and smooth, albeit not extremely long. I think this one won't evolve much more but has a few years left to enjoy.

Corked or somehow spoiled. Undrinkable.

Loads of barnyard on the nose initially, that softened up somewhat to allow a bit more fruit through with hints of dried cranberries and smoky oak. Mostly, though, the fruit is gone here and the barnyardiness was a bit too much. I may have hit this a year or two past its peak. Drink now, and definitely better to pair with a rugged stew or soup.

Drank in Farmington, CT with Tim and Sheila Galante. Changed dramatically in the glass, ultimately developing hints of grilled pork/meats. Incredibly complex and one of my favorite Margauxs. Can't wait to try the 2005--

Excellent demonstration of Tokaj as a strong contender to Sauternes as an elegant, yet powerful dessert wine. Moderately sweet, well balanced. Honey and Apricots dominate the front with hints of peaches, while the long finish dances with fig, almond, and smaller hints of apricot. Good stuff, and a heck of a deal at $25 for a 500ml bottle.
