This is my second bottle. I just cannot get over the smoke/burnt rubber on the nose that overpowers any other floral/citrus notes. It did not blow away after 30 minutes in the glass. It had a refreshing flavor of green apples and lemons but still have a tinge of the smoke in the palate. Is this flawed?
White
Expressive nose of flint, lemon, tropical fruits. On the palate, the first word that came to mind was ‘spicy’. Good acidity, full bodied and flavors of citrus and green apples. Quite enjoyable on a warm afternoon!
Red
Cork elevated about 1/8"... not a good start. The cork was soaked through. Nose was more like a Cali pinot... it went downhill from there. The palate was just awful, all acid and no fruit. Tossed it down the drain.

Drank this at our 30th wedding anniversary dinner. Excellent bottle of a mature burgundy. A little browning at the edges but otherwise still reddish purple in color. Notes of earthy loam and mushrooms mixed with hints of raspberries and some coffee. The tangy cherry raspberry palate was delightful. I would have guessed a wine half its age had I tasted this blind.
It can probably last another decade. Wonderful wine.

Lots of fruit but lacking structure. I don;t mind the big flavors but want some acidity to it. Tannns were present but not persistent. Lots of dark fruit flavors (blackberries, currants). I can see it as a party favorite but sadly not me.

Showing advanced age. Golden straw color with citrus and sea spray notes. Still enjoyable with a clean finish but I can sense that it is on its decline and I'm afraid a steep one at that.

A wonderful showing from a tough vintage. Drank with my daughter for her 21st birthday. Fruit is fading but is was enjoyable. Sour cherry notes on the nose and palate with bright acidity. Went well with food.

We need to drink our other bottle soon.

Strong Brioche notes upon opening. Advanced oxidation. Hate when this happens to a 5 year old wine.

I got lucky in the premox lottery. This bottle was a far cry from one I opened in February. This one is fresh and holding up with age. Notes of sea spray, meyer lemons and key limes abound that carries into a rich mouthful of flavors. Delightful!
Red
Great bottle. Wonderful nose of crushed raspberry and strawberry. As it sat in my glass, i got some surprisingly good coffee notes, loved that in this wine. Light-bodied mouthfeel, lots of tangy starwberries carried through with a long finish. Love what Wells is doing at Copain! This wine is in my top wines for 2013.

I was not expecting anything when I opened this one based on the experience with the one I opened recently. This is bottle is the total opposite. A still vibrant 20 year old! Lovely Sous bois, dark earth, mint on the nose. Medium bodied mouthfeel with lots of fruit left; balanced with good acidity. Glad this one turned out better than the first bottle.

Showing it's age. Brownish hue in color. Initially at opening, a little stinky but blew off after decanting for 15 minutes. Lovely rose petals and tar on the nose. Medium body with tangy licorice flavors. I don't think there is anymore upside to aging them. I plan to drink my other two bottles in the next 6-12 months.

Went really well with my homemade spaghetti meat marinara.
Red
Another good bottle. Cool climate pinot with lots of sour cherries on the palate. Loving it with some stilton blue and crackers.
White
Rich and bold nose (notes of buttery lemon peel). A very full bodied and rich mouthfeel with citrus and pineapple balanced by a good bit of acidity. A very good example of a very good california chardonnay. Went well with grilled chicken pesto pasta.
White - Sparkling
Is there a "I love it" button? My new favorite NV. lemon lime scent beautifully balanced acidity and a hint of residual sugar.

It paired great with curried coconut chicken.

All the 2005 Brocards I have opened have shown advanced age, this one included. The cork seems to be lose on all the bottles I have opened. This shows as a mature chablis with a golden color and notes of lime and seashells. Full smooth mouthfeel with flavors of lemon lime. I would have to continue to drink my stash of Brocards.

1986 Château d'Issan Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Wonderful bottle. Like an adolescent, it has both youthful characters and some maturity. Leather, cedar, and very floral notes. Great mouthfeel with cassis and currant flavors, power with finesse.
Red
Took a flyer on two bottles. First one that I opened and this bottle was way past its prime. No fruit flavors left. Down the drain.
Rosé
Wonderful summer wine and an even better price point. Lots of refreshing watermelon flavors. Enjoyed it!
White
Opened after golf with friends. Not oxidized! Good wine but flat at mid-palate. The 2000 J Boillot Mouchere we had after this was much more vibrant and more flavorful.

The cork was soft and was wet halfway. Showing advanced age. Deep straw color and some toasty notes already. Still drinkable but I will have to consume my other bottles soon. My fist bottle 6 months ago did not have this wet cork and advance age character.

Drink up.
Red
Lots of bluebarry and rhubard notes. A bit 'sweet' on the palate that distract from an otherwise wonderful experience. Great value.
Red
Lots of cassis and black cherry notes. Full bodied mouthfeel with lots of dark fruits, had a hint of sweetness and quite a bit of chewy tannins. Good value

Corked was soaked through and wet, it was not a good sign. However, the wine was perfect! It was bold but elegant. Had lots of life in it. Nose had lots of crushed raspberry, some floral notes and a little underbrush. Wonderful dinner wine with some grilled lamb chops and some orzo pasta.

Very good given the vintage. Lots of ripe black fruit, soy sauce and spice on the nose. Good acidity accompanies the ripe blackberry flavors but still have quite a bit of mouth-puckering tannins. An enjoyable Sunday night dinner wine.

I have had this wine three times in the last 3 months and all experiences were freakin awesome. This is by far the best Maybach I've had since my first 2004. This is a masculine wine but with great balance. It is, for my tastes, the best Cali Cab I have had in a long while. I could not get my nose out of the glass. I got different notes every time I put my nose int he glass, lots of dark fruits, smoke, some spice, some mocha, some cedar, some mint. The depth of flavors was amazing, lots of currants and dark berries with very fine silky tannins and no hard edges, went on forever. I very seldom give a score to a wine but this wine neared perfection for me. I wish I can get cases more.

One of our NYE wines. Popped and poured. Initially the nose was a bit restrained but still showing warm meaty notes, spicy/peppery characters, and some earthy but not horsey notes. Good depth of flavors and an excellent finish. Gone in Sixty Seconds. I wish I brought more.

This bottle has aged more advanced than my last one. Bricking at the rim with notes of roasted nuts, dark cocoa and a little bit of olives. Flavors a a bit out of balanced with the acidity over-running the fruit, a hollow mid-palate and a short finish. Kind of pedestrian.

decanted half the bottle and put the rest in the fridge.
initial nose of bretty/stinky/barnyard character, at 30 minutes still stinky with vanilla notes, red fruits with the palate showing lots of drying tannins overcoming the fruit, a bit thin on the mid-palate;
after 1:15, stink blew off; nose shows green/stemmy notes with blackberry and cassis notes; tannins have mellowed and become more balanced. Enjoyable for $12

Decanted for 30 minutes. Big bold and beautiful. Lots of blackberry and blueberry on the nose with a hints of white pepper, vanilla and tar. Weighty full bodied mouth feel with rich blueberries continue on the palate with a loooong finish. A slight sense of heat was the only detraction from an otherwise awesome experience. Enjoyed with some prime rib roast.

Decanted for about an hour before consuming over another hour. This was fantastic. So well balanced and not in the big Cali cab way. An awesome nose of pencil shavings, mint and mocha. There was no overt oak with lots of dark cherries, currants and licorice (in a good way) on the palate. Perfect pairing with venison!
