acidic, may need more time to soften. i see the potential, my first "first growth" super tuscan. flavor profile reminded me of a Pavie.
White - Sweet/Dessert

second bottle was slightly more enjoyable than the first. more similar to a d'yquem in texture but the finish leaves something to be desired.

nose reminded me of a Mouton Rothschild. Excellent structure. Spicy, rich. Powerful intense effervesent. my second favorite "normal" Gaja behind the 1978.
Red - Fortified

i am in love. berries galore. decant this for 6 hours and the tannins will soften to heavenly status.

yuck, undrinkable. did they age this wine in a toilet bowl?
White - Sweet/Dessert

beautiful orange/tan color that led to a tight, clean greeting on my palette. However, the finish was disappointing, perhaps even bordering on corked. Will need to try another bottle to finalize my impressions.
White - Sweet/Dessert

fruit forward and powerful. reminds me of an insignia. explosive on the palette. drank this with a dominus side by side and they had such different character.

Great nose but everything else lacked ... perhaps I was expecting too much or is my palette not condusive to French Bordeaux.

Wow!!! This is my second bottle of this wine and I must've had a relative dud first time around (94 point first bottle). Wonderful, gushy buquet of fruit, hints of truffles and earth. Zesty acidity with granulating tannins. Balanced with a minute long finish. Great with steak or wild game. Yum yum.

first bottle of cali cab i ever bought and was underimpressed. however perhaps my judgement was clouded by the 1992 caymus special selection i tried the next day.

first cab based italian i tried. in between cali and french in terms of strength. finish had quite a kicker ... seemed a bit young for a 18 year old bottle.
