I thought this might be at the end of it’s window but clearly has a few good years ahead. A little tanic on the initial pop n pour but came together in less than 30 minutes.

Decanted and poured the first glass immediately. This was fantastic from the first sip. Beautiful nose with tons of dark fruit, figs and raisin. Even better on the palate with just layers and layers of flavor. Drinking incredibly well now and will drink over 3 nights to see where it goes!

Second night and it is getting better! Really smooth with a lingering finish. Dark fruit disappearinging and figs/raisins more prominant and lingering beyond 30 seconds

All the hallmarks of a blockbuster Barossa Shiraz. Well integrated and smooth berries, touch of spice. Nice chewiness after 5-6 seconds and then a bit more length on the finish. Another 3-4 years left.....will test that assumption!

A bit of barnyard and light perfume on the nose, but fresh, not strong. A little light on the palate

First time for a "French Pinot", a little watery but good nose, the barnyard drifted off and overall structure as good.

A really nice GSM. Drank over 3 nights (closed top but not vacuumed) and it was perfect on night 3. Fruit, meat and spice all in there but quite light. Drank another bottle at lunch with freinds a day later (pop n pour) and was great. Superb value wine that sits comfortably within the Torbreck byre.

Drinking very nicely after 14 years; well beyond the 5-7 recommended. Very mellow spice and berries with hint of mint. Probably only a year or so left in it

Addition: do not let it sit...it loses everything in 30 minutes!

Slow on the nose but nice gentle palate. Light spice, candy? Good value and looks like it would get better in a year or 2

A pop and pour (sorry, a screw and pour). Deep red wine. Not too open on the nose...light fruit. Quite balanced blend of dark berries leading into a bit of pepper/spice on a reasonable finish. Very pleasant, as was the price.

Thin red colour. Peaty on the nose with perhaps a touch of dark fruit. Black cherry palate and somewhat tart to tanic. Doesn't seem to have any complexity and not likely to develop too much. Reasonable given the price point

Reasonable easy drinking Shiraz, a little tanic but not sure it will develop too well. Deep red and viscous, fruit a little hidden, not sure about the balance. Priced well.

A pleasant surprise, bought to top up a case purchase for delivery and delivered more than expected. Delicate tobacco on the nose moving into chocolate with a little fruit coming through after 30 minutes. Tasted of dark fruit and retained some of the tobacco. Quite well integrated and should last 3-5 years with those slight tannins. Great value wine, off for some more.

30 minute decant. An excellent wine. Wonderful deep purple colour, strong but not overpowering nose of berries and smoke. the liquorice came out on the palate and was well integrated. Mild tannics. I believe this has some way to go with potential to improve, but I will drink more in 2010

A little tannic but showing good character and probably needs longer in the bottle. Smooth, slightly sweet dark berry taste. I will buy more to keep

Very good, but not outstanding. Too viscous and the fruit and alcohol overpowered somewhat (perhaps compred with the better integrated Tokaji just prior to it!). Good for a christmas lunch and really worked well with the cheese plate.

Crisp clear citrus to start, which was pleasnt, and developed nicely into a gentle roast nut taste after over 4 hours in the bottle in the fridge. Well developed and probably drinking a few years beyond the CT drinking window

A fruit bomb on opening but a 30 minute decant later showed the true nose with dark fruit and spice coming through. Well integrated and worth the wait. Plummy and light spice, not the full black pepper of other vintages but still very drinkable

Straight from the bottle - should have decanted like last time. Came good after 30-45 minutes. Same colour, taste and residual tannins as previous note.

Straight from the bottle (a mistake) - A real fruit bomb on the nose and quite tannic when first tasted. Started to settle after 30 minutes, mellowed out and dark berries with a touch of spice started coming through. I will decant next time and leave for an hour. Should have a good life. Definitely a good value wine

A quick decant and then into the glass - looked a little thin but had a firmer nose. Undertones of cocoa and a gentle taste of dark fruits. I would expect several years left in the drinking window. Tried the second half of the bottle the next day and it had lost a little.

30 minute decant - deep purple colour. Gentle on the nose, hints of a typical Shiraz but not so powerful. Same on the palate, well developed with lingering hints on tannins. Should last 2-3 more years. Very pleasant.

Drank 2 bottles in company. 1st was from the bottle and was a little closed. 2nd had a 20 minute decant and came out tasting delightful. Nice purple colour with gentle cassis notes and light spice showing later. Will last at least 5 yrs and should develop further.

Decanted. Immediate slight earthy nose giving way to gentle chocolate aromas. Drank after 30 mins. Some initial tannins that gave way to chocolate and light mint tones that had not quite integrated yet and played around on the tongue. 8-10 second finish. After another 30 minutes the tannins dropped off to leave a very smooth and more integrated wine. Also starting to get some very pleasant lingering toffee tastes. Good potential for next few years years

Straight from the bottle. Still a bit young but reasonable balance and potential. Fruit (plum?) and smoke on the nose. Similar on the palate but still tannic. It does linger and the tannins fall off for a smoother finish. Probably better decanted and will hold half a bottle for a day 2 follow up.

Straight from bottle. Deep red to purple. Strong Cassis on the nose matched in the palate. Reasonable finish turning smokey and lingering. Not too well structured, no tannins, but will probably endure, as other Stonehorse varieties, for several years as a wine of value.

Intense nose replicated in the palate. Strong toffee/butterscotch and abundant alcohol (even for me). Lingering finish especially ok the lips due to the viscosity. After 60 minutes starts to lose sweetness but maintains some creme brule undertones and increases intensity (almost tingling sensation on the tongue) and becoming more enjoyable.

30 minute decant. Big nose. No fruit, mellow chocolate for first few seconds leading into minty finish-very nice. After an hour lost chocolate but kept mint and welcomed in some spice. No tanins and really started to tail off quickly. Drink now and drink quick to enjoy it.
