11/14/23, 12:34 PM - Hi KRHAUGH, this wine comes from Force Majeure’s Walla Walla Estate Vineyard (which they call Stellaire) and straddles the Rocks District boundary. It is not from the River Rock vineyard. I agree it is delicious!
1/6/23, 12:44 PM - Hello MUSINUS, from your description I’d guess your bottle was corked. I had this wine a month ago and there was ample fruit and no bitterness. FM is good about replacing corked bottles if you just contact them.
1/2/23, 7:59 PM - Hey Darell, sorry to hear about the corked bottle. Please contact matt@fm-wine.com and he will send you a replacement bottle. Have a great New Year!
2/13/22, 10:03 AM - Hello Jim, just curious, based on your comments did you intend to score 74 or was that a typo?
2/14/22, 9:30 AM - Thanks Jim, I opened a bottle several weeks ago and it was showing great, so thanks for the note and review!
1/29/22, 10:22 AM - Jeagal, Paul from Force Majeure here. So sorry to hear your experience with this bottle. Based on your description I’d guess the wine was mildly corked (fruit falls out, alchohol elevated, wood prominent). Mild corking doesn’t always show up as “wet dog”. Pls send an email to Alex or Matt @fm-wine.com and they will replace with another hopefully much better bottle! Cheers.
5/8/21, 12:54 PM - Hey Tim, a rule of thumb I find helpful is to give young wines one hour of decanting to equate to one year of bottle age. So 3 hours of decanting will give you a sense of where the wine will be after 3 years of bottle age. Try it —it’s pretty helpful with young wines in particular.
5/13/20, 3:25 PM - Jeagle, your observation is actually spot on. The 2015 vintage just needs a little more time to resolve and open up. Earlier it was quite backwards. It is only just now starting to approach its drinking window. I expect it will reach its peak drinking in 2022-2025. Cheers!
5/11/20, 11:04 AM - Based on your comments, I wonder if you meant to post 81 or 91 points?
5/4/20, 3:57 PM - Tom Lee who writes the Zinfandel Chronicles blog thinks the FM Collaboration IV is the best merlot blend to ever come out of Washington State.
12/27/19, 2:53 PM - Unfortunately I believe you may have tasted a faulty (mildly corked) bottle. Based on your description of “heavily oaked”, and out of balance. I tasted the wine a few days ago and though still quite young and primary, the fruit was very clean and elegant with very little oak evident. Tanzer (one of the toughest critics around) scored the wine 93 points, so I suspect you tasted a faulty bottle.
10/21/19, 12:15 PM - I opened a 2006 CIII a couple of weeks ago and was surprised by the youthfulness and energy it was still showing. Still a lot of life left. Agree that serving temp should be maintained in the 65-68 degree range.
8/7/19, 10:56 AM - Dear Oenophilemoose,Paul McBride, owner of Force Majeure Vineyards here. I was sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience with a bottle of our 2011 Collaboration V Cabernet Sauvignon. Based on your description I would wager that you had a mildly corked bottle that tends to suppress the fruit and accentuate oak and alcohol. Very frustrating as a winemaker and consumer. I have tasted a bottle recently that did not disappoint. It sounds as if you have another bottle in your cellar? May I suggest that you open that one and try it to see if you have a much better wine.If it is better we would gladly refund the cost of the corked bottle. If you are still disappointed with the second bottle we will refund both bottles. If you’re not happy, we’re not happy.Let me know how we can make it right.Best regards,PaulEmail: info@fm-wine.com
8/15/14, 11:05 PM - A one-of-a-kind rare find.
9/18/13, 10:19 AM - CAELERIC/CAE_CPA, Paul McBride of Force Majeure here. So sorry to hear about your disappointment with a bottle of 2010 Collaboration Series Cabernet Sauvignon. Based on your description, it sounds very likely you had a corked bottle. Fruit falls out with a corked bottle and the wine is left with only wood, earth and alcohol. Very frustrating. In any case, please drop me a note at info@forcemajeurevineyards.com and I will send you a replacement bottle right away. Thank you, -Paulp.s. when I tried this wine a couple of weeks ago it was still showing quite young (ample fruit and tannins), but settled down after several hours in a decanter. Should reach peak drinking in about 5-7 years.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
