Noticeably green on opening but fortunately blew off after 10 minutes. Cherries, cranberry, Vosne spice. Good fruit with tangy acidity. It took an hour to balance out and as usual would have liked one more glass to see how much further it would have developed.

Huge nose of black fruits, warm earth and spice reminisent of Vosne. Fruit still very primary and palate felt somewhat closed over the course of the bottle. Tart cherry, medium tannins and tangy acidity. Great nose but this needs some additional time to come together.

Very deep color and muted nose to begin, after 30 minutes brooding nose of black cherry and earth. Just on the edge of secondary stage. Sappy on the palate but not heavy, mouth coating tannins, very long finish. Many 99s are somewhat muted right now and interesting to revisit this again in a few years to see how it evolves.
