Seemed odd on initial opening super strong vanilla oak contrasting with (under-ripe and/or spoiled fruit?) underneath - this may have been partly due to the rich chicken aromas around me when opened, and it seemed more suitable and mellow on the following 2 days.

Good Sonoma cab had nice calif cab characteristics, and was much better the second night, so could use decanting. Not too impressive, but not too expensive either.

floral, mineral --> creamy --> fruity ...! not bad, I'll buy this one again! This one was definitely better on the second day open. Perhaps could hang out in the cellar a little longer.

Light and refreshing like a Bordeaux summer breeze. I can even smell the grass of the nearby pasture... Much more subtle and subdued than any New World SV-B's I've had lately. This one made much more of an impression on me last time I had it.

crisp and refreshing, or sour and citrus, you choose! The palate on this one is dominated by sharp grapefruit. Interesting and good SV-B.

Nice plum and leather on the nose. slight hint of raisins and chocolate on the palate, but mostly just a good earthy old world red.

Really very nice! Not much nose, but distinct red fruit with that cab taste, better on the first night, so no need to decant. S didn't care for it though, she didn't like some chemical taste ore something that I either didn't notice or didn't mind.

Enough strong flavor to hold up against bold and spicy foods (why I got it) but this one was just too oaky for my tastes - like some Cali chards. I don't remember that on previous bottles with this name.

Nice fruity and rich at first - but something was a bit off. Not corked or oxidized, but some flavor that I didn't care for. Tried this again on the third day, and this wine had risen again. Much better. Whaddaya know.

Old world, not new world here. Fruit definately not dominant, leather and graphite dominating the palate, reminded me of some of the woodsier southern rhone wines, but not as good. Am I really drinking the same thing that the other reviewers are drinking, or has my bottle just been cooked a touch??
