First, it is hard to rate wines that are 33 years old. Do you use the same standard critics do and try to "predict"? 30 years ago to get this good of tasting Bin 707, based tasting thousands of wines, the critics would rate 95+. Yes, fruit is mostly gone, past it peak bu sound, good acidity, appreciate more for texture, acidity, not funky. Tastes and flavors are a function of imagination. Everyone said for 33 years old it is good. Perfect food wine. Do I have any desire to drink the balance of this case? No.

8/9/20, 7:33 PM - I bought when it was released at wine store in Chicago. It has been stored in a professional cellar (temperate controlled) since purchase. cork was good on removal. I did not mention but get bottle variation at this age. I had this same wine a two years ago was not drinkable.

This wine is 14 years old but color is like yesterday. The aroma, mouth feel and finish are so smooth with mature fruit flavors of combination of dark and red fruits - blueberries, raspberries, strawberries. I have not a pinot this good in a long time from USA. Give in 10 minutes to open up. Magnum, I had been trying to sell for like $75 and no takers so drink it. It is better than any current release of any CA pinot you can buy; sorry I drink it.

2/16/19, 1:35 PM - I should have added it like a fruit cobbler dish I enjoy often growing up. Net, cooked fruits. Finish is perfect balance of acidity and tannins. I bought from winery on release in 2005/2006 and stored at 55% until today.

Tasting Room Note: Medium bodied Pinot Noir with a terrific ruby color and Willamette minerality and earthiness on the nose. The mineral and earthiness carries over on the Palate but compliments the bright cherry and floral fruit that finishes well with a nice balance of tannins and acidity. This one should age well over the next few years, and I am holding my bottles until at least next year. A nice find.
