Good but nothing exciting. Dense with grainy tannins. Wine was similar over two days. Difficult to predict if there is any room for improvement.

Disappointing for such a great right bank vintage.

In a nice place. Blueberries and pencil aromas. Palate is fresh but a bit lean (2008 signature). Classic left bank. Good balance.

Green apple, lemon, with only a very subtle honey note. Fresh palate with apple and oyster shells combined with a slight butter note. Driven by very good acidity and a Medium finish.

Not decanted but slowly consumed over a period of 4-5 hours, where the wine remained quitesimilar. I assume the wine has entered its mature phase. Normally, younger Dauvissat need quite some air to open up.

Nose: plenty of red fruit, black current, Some oak, a bit lactic at opening and starting to show subtle tertiary tones (leather).

Palate: Not very complex or dense, but just well balanced, vivid and good tannins. Finish medium.

Drinking stage: at the start of maturity and very enjoyable. No problem to cellar for additional 10-15 years, since there is enough fruit left with good tannins. Classic left bank style.

It has been a while ago I opened a Chidaine...

Aromas of green apple and some slight honey tones. Great balance in the palate with still a lot of freshness, excellent acidity and a long finish. Surprisingly dry.

In great shape now but this can be cellared for another 10+ years.

Within the optimum drinking window with still some reserve.
Expressive nose with a nice combination of secondary fruit and some tertiary (leather, tobacco) aromas. Good palate, plenty of fruit, medium sweetness, tannins still have a good bite (no dryness) and balanced acidity.
Very good fo the 2004 vintage!

There is a good mix of ripe fruit and licorice together with a firm backbone of tannins and still enough freshness (probably thanks to the Cabernet Franc). Several years ago I was a bit worried because the wine was disjointed with drying tannins, but it has settled down pretty well. A good everyday drinker which should be accessible for a broad public.

Very nice nose combining a masculine character with elegance; earthy, red fruit, some spice.
In mouth the wine is very juicy and fresh with a good substance. Finish is still tight but showing good material in the background.
Decanted for 45 min, this was showing very well in its youth.

Elegant nose of white fruit, melon and still some oak. Initially mouth had a lot of apple flavor and high acidity. After 30 min in the decanter the palate softened showing a great intensity at the attack. Acidity got more balanced with the palate. Finish had a combination of apples with a slight nutty tone in it.
Very good, but I think it will be better in 1-2 years. 90+

Opened 1 hour in advance.

Nose got better with air. Red fruit (cherry), a green stems character and later on some subtle dried roses.
Palate was still tight, but showing sappy fruit with good density. The medium+ finish confirmed the quality. Still in a young phase this wine is already showing a nice future. I would leave it at least +3 years and give it a sufficient amount of air.

Mouth is very fine, still youthful, a combination of intensity and elegance. Palate builds up to a long finish, with some nutty character. Very good wine but with a high price tag.

Initially some barnyard on the nose which blew off followed by dark intense fruit. Palate was dens with a lot of structure, however finish was short. This bottle was quite tens, clearly holding back it's full quality. Would leave this for 3+ years.

Nose of cherries, fading red fruit, some earthness and slightly vegetal notes (not overwhelming ).
Decent palate with still some fruit, but also a green vegetal note. Finish is starting to dry out after some time.

I had a bottle 1.5 years ago which was much better: more fruit less greenies, a pitty. Best to drink up while there is still fruit left.

Nose of ripe fruit, cassis, beet, some clean minerality. In mouth it had a polished substance, nice fruit without edges. Good acidity. Not a lot of weight, but that's not something I am looking for in this wine. But still enough grip to mature nicely.
This wine asks to be drunk. A delicious 2007 Baudry.

Nose closed; from time to time some citrus, barrel, minerals, some charme.
Palate was tight, with chalky minerals and green apple flavors.
Later got more smoother. Medium finish of apple and slightly nutty.
Opened way to early but wanted to judge the wine in its early youth. Expected more, but the second part of the palate and the finish are promising. Needs some years.

Nose of red fruits and parfume-like fragrances. Still underperforming in comparison with the two other 99's.
Palate was dense , but lacked the complexity, lateron a greenish aspect came up.
A quite good wine but still disappointing compared with the two other 99's.
Does it need more time? Yes, but I am not sure if this will ever be great.

Again, this wine has left its akward phase and is fully mature. What a difference with 1.5 year ago when it was out of balance and harsh.
The nose shows muted fruit and some rubber and leather(probably the influence of Syrah). After a hour the nose is on its finest showing dry blackcurrent aromatics, probably dominated by the Cabernet Sauvignon. The palate is not imposant, but rather soft with a flavor of dried fruit. The finish is ok but nothing special.
Great QPR

I remember drinking this wine in its youth, full of dark fruit and toffee, now it has nicely evolved and mellowed down. Still, both stages deserve equal points. 89-90

The nose showed various characters. Dark cherries, fresh red fruits, dry earth and woody-spicy aromas came on the surface. The palate was sweet and gentle, but also with a good substance based on fruit. Probably the 13.5% alcohol also gives some weight on the palate, however causing no negative influence. A medium finish got better over time but shows still some youthful tannins.
A very good NSG showing a nice finesse. The next bottle I will revisit over 1-2 years. 91+

40min decant. Atypical pomerol, aromatics and palate easily mislead you towards more warmer climates.
Intense nose of plum, warm seductive aromatics and cedar.
Palate was dense and nicely balanced, there was no lack in acidity. Finish was long and flavoured (some nuts) with a little bit of dryness.
Already open for business but will improve with age.

Decanted for 1h. Wonderful aroma's of dark fruit (also some plum) and licorice. Initialy some oak that blew away. The nose expresses such crystal pure fruit that it's a pleasure to keep smelling. The mouth showed a compact character of ripe fruit in a good tannic structure. Good finish.
This little brother of Sassicaia is a huge QPR deal and already a great pleasure with a nice aging potential. Planning to give it +4 years.
