Maybe too young at this point. Drank after the 09 Howell Mountain and this bottle didn't come close. Definitely need food with this bottle at this point.

Great fruit, in a real sweet spot now. Open and let sit for an hour.

Like liquid silk up front, red fruit with a little tannin on the back-end. Fantastic with filet. Decanted for an hour before dinner, doesn't need anymore than that.

I really enjoy all the Puriri Hills bottles. Found this at Schneiders in DC and it's in perfect condition. Well made Bordeaux style wines, full bodied, fantastic dark berries with a well made Boredeaux nose.

Really great fruit, tannins much more integrated than the last bottle, still deep purple with no noticeable bricking, really well made wine. Years ahead of it but don't see it getting better, really in a good spot now for this wine.

It's a baby, a big baby. Good but needs to mature at least 5 more years.

Bit of a baby Caymus, might have struck a little early on this one. Next time I'll try a decant and see if it softens over a couple hours. Good bottle with huge fruit and not too tight tannin.

After an hour and more this really pulled together and took me back to the tasting at the winery. The wine opened up and was delicious. Love it.

This is the 4th bottle of this wine I've had. The first 3 were easily mid 90s worthy. This one was flat and borderline had no nose or fruit. Hopefully the next 4 will be like the first 4.

Good bottle but a standard thin 2011, missing some weight and complexity.

This bottle was in a great spot, big full fruity nose wrapped in an oak blanket. The last bottle I had I wasn't impressed with. This was dark and extracted, dark fruit from front to back, coated the palate and went great with seasoned grilled ribeye.

Lighter than 2000 and 20005, but ok with a steak, not on its own though.

Drinking very well now, everything seems well put together and I don't see it getting any better with more time in the bottle.

Made the mistake of pairing it with a good steak, way to big, way to fruity. This is a bottle that is meant to be sipped, or chugged, without food. It's a meal in itself and just isn't meant for food. It's the Rombauer of cabernets.

Just not good, not sure what it's trying to be. Chardonnay on the nose but falls flat in the mouth.

Way bigger than I remember. So dark and velvety, unlike most cabs I drink. A treat. Several hours in a decanter is advised. Should have waited a couple more years, no more bottles in the fridge.

Holding together very well but showing its age, primarily on the nose. Color is still dark, slight bricking at the edges. Impressed with this 15 yo syrah. Opened a 2010 Gramercy syrah after finishing this bottle. Taking age out of the equation, the Gramercy never had a chance against this.

Big big baby. Huge nose to match the ridiculously heavy bottle, tons of ripe plum wrapped in alcohol. Nice but still young. Decant for a few hours minimum

Better than the first bottle we had last week, not sure why, but more fruit than we thought the first bottle had. For $29.99/btl, good deal

Nice blend with equal merlot and cab at 43% each plus 14% malbec. Going to let the 2nd bottle age a few years and see how it does.

Took to Europa Restaurant in Herndon. A bit more acidity and less body than the 2009, but still a good bottle of chardonnay with tropical fruit, banana peel, light to medium body. Nice.

Took to Europa Restaurant in Herndon. Delicious, only getting better with age. Still dark but a smidge lighter at the edges. Cedar and dark fruit on the nose. Tannins are smoothing out but still noticeable an hour after opening. Not necessarily a baby, maybe a teenage with years ahead of it.

Open two hours....alcohol starting to wear off, delicious ripe plumb showing through. Deep purple color, full bodied, really really tasty stuff. Just make sure you let it sit a couple hours to get the most of what it's got to give.

So stinky in the decanter...burnt rubber? Trash?
An hour later in the glass showing its youth with a slight sting of alcohol. Fruit is dark and heavy, smooth and awesome, tannin blending well to bring it together. So much alcohol though at 15.8.
Better than the '12 Turley by a few points today.
Deeeelicious.
