color of aged sauternes in the glass. a bit muted on the nose for the first hour, opened up slightly after that. certainly less expressive than when i had this last 1.5 years ago. orange peel and a bit of cloves. acid is still there, but less pronounced this time it seems. medium long finish. overall, very enjoyable... but picked up the nuance much better without food.

medium / dark garnet. red and blue sundried fruits. enough acidity. not 100% our style (prefer pinots that are lighter in color and expression), but enjoyable.

really surprising! tattered label, and picked up for 25 at auction, so was a little worried. nutty, orange blossom, flowers, and a touch of oxidation on the nose. balanced on the palate with nice acidity. dark orange color was a little scary, but after tasting, clearly this is normal. still drinking well out of the fridge 4 days later.

pale ruby in the glass. slightly candied red fruits (strawberry, raspberry), plus some rhubarb on the nose. big acidity and fruit on the palate. very well balanced, and it is clear this will age well.

pale yellow. saline, lime, cool cucumber, and a bit of wax on the nose. big time wax on the palate, with really nice mineral notes and good acidity. nice weight. wish there was a bit more citrus on the palate, but that is the only complaint. it's not over the hill. really impressed by the depth and longevity of this wine. mid-long finish. the best $25 i've spent on a wine in some time.

love this wine. transparent ruby. cherry, rhubarb, and raspberry on the nose. very good depth - unique given the red fruit profile. high acid on the palate... will clearly develop over the next few years. opens up over time - need to buy more. 13.0% alcohol.

relatively simple but good on the first day. wayy better on day 3 from the fridge.

Lemon and white flowers, with great minerality, and good weight despite the lack of RS. big back end acidity. a touch of bitterness in the finish, but not enough to detract. excellent value.

transparent yet a little cloudy - slightly bricking.

alcohol was present on the nose at first, but mostly dissipated with time. pretty red fruits yet some dirt and savage as well. a little like aged CDP. velvet in the mouth. raspberries, chocolate, high acid that balances the ripeness and alcohol. overall, a classy wine. if the alcohol went away completely this would be fantastic

couldn't get over the alcohol. way too hot for me.

light burgundy in the class - very translucent. high toned yet intense raspberry and red cherry rose. slightly effervescent on the palate at first. sour raspberry. med finish. enjoyable and great with food, but based on tasting older vintages, needs some time. 90 now, 92 in a few years?

surprise of the night. seemed quite a bit older than the 99s that i have had. light at the rim. savage nose - lots of earth, musk, yet fruit with a touch of sweetness. good balance but agree with other reviewers in wondering how much time this one has left. will drink these up over the next few years and hold the 99s. just love this style of wine. went great with roasted bone in leg of lamb.

medium oak. just enough acidity to stay well balanced. would like there to be a little more citrus, but overall, a nice California chardonnay. needs to be served chilled to keep it fresh enough.

good! one of the better roesslers.

dark cherry, raspberry, smoke, and some herbal notes. rich fruit but not overly sweet. fine tannin.

medium high acidity which balances out the rich fruit nicely. could use a little more lift on the finish, but really enjoyable otherwise. exceeded expectations.

translucent to the core - classic jura color in the glass. very reticent fruit at first, and huge acidity. can see why this supposedly goes 50 years in good vintages. red cherry, some raspberry, earth, and herbs. long finish. very well structured. much more fruit 48 hours later. going to buy more - cool find at $22, and could be amazing value if it improves as it should.

tasted blind.
deep ruby but not opaque to the core.
reserved nose at the moment. black fruits, a little raspberry, a little vanilla, and a little alcohol.
not concentrated enough to be an 05. elegant. fine tannins, good acidity.
has the balance to evolve nicely.

bricking at edges - almost transluscent at core.

very evolved on the nose. initially thought it was 96 based on this. leather, green pepper, graphite, yet good sweet fruit.

leather, cassis, and vegetal (in a good way) on the palate. good ripeness. medium(-) acidity and medium, fine tannin. lift from acidity at end.

surprised when it was revealed as 2000. aging more quickly than clerc milon. loved this wine.
