Very tight at opening. Needed hours to breathe. Opened nicely, but may need more time.

Big fruit on the nose. Body was heavier than most zins, great cherryon the mid palate and good spice on the finsih. Went well with tri-tip, would have liked to pair with some ribs.

Solid pinot at a great price. Similar vineyard sold by Tudor, but 40 bucks less. Very bright in color, big, fruity nose, smoothe on the mid-palate with the familiar spicy finish of a SLH pinot. Went for the case discount- I'm glad I did!!

Excellent wine from PPP. Offered at the last flight with a David Bruce Bien Nacido, J lLohr Fogs Reach and Belle Glos Las Alturas and was clearly the hit of the flight. Friends were looking for more, but I only had one bottle. Very typical Russian River pinot with wild cherry on the palate, smoothe tannins and a bit a spice on the finsih.

Big fruit on this zin. Decanted the put back in the fridge for 2 days (I forgot I opened it). Once is warmed, it was very big with berries, spice and a little heat. Went great with ribeyes.

Drank over two days. Initial impression was a very alcoholic nose, very tight on the palate with a tannicy finish. Some typical pinot flavors, but I didnt have a problem leaving some for later. Day two- nose has opened up- some dark fruits, maybe blackberry with a little oak. Mid-palate shows good fruit, much smoother than previous night. Tannins are still present but not as tight as previous consumption. Overall- good, but not accustomed to waiting 24 hours for a good pinot to open.

Not what I was expecting from a RR chardonay. Very little nose, body was heavy. Tasted citrus, grapefruit on the mid-palate. Finsihed clean, but needs food, cheese.

Really enjoyed this pinot. Great nose, very big fruit. Fantastic mid-palate with a slightly spicy finish. Three more bottles- good for me!

A little disappointed by this PPP. Normally, fruit is much bigger with some spice. Leras was sweeter than I anticipated with a mediocre finish. Hope the 07 is better.

Very pleased with this second time around. Held up nicley with a decent mid-palate and a good smokey finish. Looking forward to the next bottle

What a disappointment. Was expecting a huge pinot with vibrant flavors; instead got fruit punch. Lacked flavor and intensity. Really expected more from this wine; instead felt a little embarassed as a introduced to my friends as a "great" pinot. Maybe next year.

Great fruit on the nose, very dark in color. Opened and drank immediately after chardonnay, pinot noir and bordeaux and this was a nice finish to the combination. Light in tannins, medium body that supported good fruit and intensity. Liked very much.

Color was a medium red, not real dark, but showed some good body. Nose was faint, no real impressions other than light aromas. Fruit was very dry on the front and finish. Was hoping for some fruit or spice on the finish, but never appeared. Drank over 2 days and never got better. Drank with somked meat and glazed ribs, but food didn't help to fight off the dryness.

Solid pinot. Deep ruby color, and great body. Hints of spice and berries with balanced tannins. Became better and better as it opened up. Would purchase again!

Very light in color, nose was basically non-existent, didn't really open up until after an hour. Medium-bodied, decent finish. Didn't have the depth that I normally like in a pinot.

OK chianti, thought it was a bit thin and tannicy. Drank next to an amarone with chicken cacciatore. Opened up towards the end of the meal. Can't say that I would buy again.

Deep ruby color, red berries on the nose and good fruit forward. Loses a little on the mid-palate but finishes nicely with hints of smoke. Agree that this is still a little young. WTSO for $20- would buy again.

I usually drink Santa Maria, Russian River or Sonoma Coast wines. I remember why I avoid Carneros for pinots. Lacked body or structure. Maybe it will be better in a couple of days, but not good coming out initially.

Really surprised by this zin, especially for the price. Good fruit forward, presents hints of oak and finishes like a typcial, spicy zin. I'm stoked about the purchase.

Took a while for this one to open up. I have had better PPP pinots, but once this cooled off and opened up, we really enjoyed it. We have had some of the 07's and would say that they are better than the '06.

This followed an 07 Papapietro so maybe not fair to compare side by side. A bit more tannicy than what I like in a pinot. Let sit for a couple of days and it was a bit more mellow. Can't say that I would buy again.

Like previous buyer, got from WTSO. Not bad for a '96 cab. Was hoping for a deep, more oaky cab, but wasn't totally disappointed, especially with the price point. I would do this again.

Deep, dark color. Nose lacks any specific charachterisitcs. Initial taste is promising but then it stops. Lacks body and structure on the mid-palate. Dry finish. Will leave open to see if it has a better day.

After reading prior reviews, I decidedto decant for 5 hours and ran through the vinturi. The wine opened up nicely and had a decent smokiness to it with some chocolate. I finicky wine audience commented that they liked the wine. Give it some time in the decanter.

One of the better pinots that I have had in a while. Big fruit on the nose with a hint of spice. Very smooth on the palate, mild tannins. Great finish with a hint of oak. Last bottle but heard the '07 is outstanding. Perfect since I have an open space in my cellar!!

Really like this PG. It has more characteristics of a california chardonnay with some oak on the palate and a bit of a buttery finish. Great wine to serve with cheese and grapes as an appetizer.

Not impressed with this cab. Served with a ribeye and it didn't support the red meat as I had expected. It lacked the full-body that I would expect from a Napa cab and left me wondering if it would improve over time. I doubt it but I will keep the other bottle for another year and hope for the best.

Wasn't expecting much so I am not too disappointed. No distinct character on the nose, perhaps a bit of cherry. Decent berry fruit on the palate and a touch of spice and then fades into the abyss. I tried to find food to help it out, but nothing seems to help. I think it made the sushi taste better. Thank God its only Tuesday.

First go-around with a New Zealand pinot. Wine lacked the depth as compared to Cali wines. Fruit was forward but the finish was unrefined and lackluster. Won't buy this again.

I would agree with some of the jammy comments made on this wine. For me, not my favorite zin. I prefer them a bit drier with more spice. This had big cherry and plum fruit, very sweet, not what I was hoping for. Drank with grilled chicken. Would have been better with carne asada.

Just purchased at a discount. Cork very dry which made me worry about proper storage. Let breathe for about an hour. Opened up nicely and finished with blackberries and a bit of spice.
