VHR wine member tasting hosted in Chicago by Bruce & Heather Phillips. Tasted the 2012 along side the 2014 VHR Cabernet. The 2014 is clearly just an infant right now in terms of working through its tannins, but has all the underpinnings of becoming another 96+ wine. The 2012 was decanted for 4 hours and was drinking beautifully. Juicy black & red fruits along with a velvety mouthfeel and sweet balanced tannins along with structure and roundness followed by a lasting finish. An impeccable gorgeous wine that I could not simply get enough of. Bruce & Heather were such gracious hosts and I'm certainly looking forward to all the fantastic wine coming from this historic and highly pedigreed family-run vineyard. Bravo!!

Full bodied champagne...straight-up yellow color. Well-balanced with both light and dark fruits, rock, and enough earth to make it worth the time. Enjoy"!
