Garnet. Young. Light on tannins. Red berries. Some hint of licourish. Hay. Ok, but not an award winner.

Still a bit young. Slightly tart. Very strong on tannins. Dry & very dark. Not your typical Merlot. Very tasty though. Hard to go wrong on a Lapostolle. Cookie points for being a "green" wine!

Curiosity killed the cat and opened this bottle to get a sneak preview of the 2005. Still young. Dark. Deep garnet color, almost black. Oak and dried fruit on the nose. Prune, some cacao and anis while swirling on the mouth. Tanins make themselves very evident! And what a finish! Still present while I am typing this e-mail! Still a bit acid, but should settle down with a few years. Drink 2013.

Fresh. Good summer wine. Good with robust fish, poultry, pastas & salads. Enjoyed.

Dark garnet color. Deep oak, smokey and dry cocoa nose. Dash of prune and nutmeg. Nice velvety taste with black cherry and prune flavor. Smooth rich tanins. Slightly hot. Nice long aftertaste of leather and chocolate.

Corked. Have tried in the past and it has proved to be a good wine. Could not drink.

Softer. Ligher than most Riojas.

Very good. Had with friends and all agreed. Superb wine at a decent price.

Drank a few days ago so I am going by memory. Deep color, medium body. Very mineral in my opinion. Wood from aging in oak was definitely present. Gave away to a meadowy flavor with presence of hay. Really not what I expected. 1998 was a bad year in general in Spain so I am going to give this wine another try with a different vintage.

A dark violet - purple color with a non-transparent hue. A different Spanish wine. Meduim body (tending towards light). Smooth. Fruit is present. Dark ripe cherries. I liked the fact that although it is towards the fruitier end, the woods (woody, smokey and toast) gave it a nice balance. Brief aftertaste. Not overpowering. Good wine to have with Paella.

Perfect garnet color (exact). Thick in appearance and texture. Full-bodied. The smells are hidden when opened. Does not rush in. Generally woody taste (oak) with ripe fruit. The alcohol is there. The tannis are also present. Slightly hot and rough. Medium after-taste.

Dark purple color. Nice aroma. A fruitier wine. You can smell the fruit. Ceder chips and nuts as well as vanilla flavors. Good finish. Tastety. Sweetness does not overpower the wine's flavor.

Brilliant and rather clear purpulish - violet color. Scent of black olives and dried fruit in a mineral background. Lively. Can taste the oak. Fresh, although slightly acid. A lighter Ribera del Duero. Medium bodied. The tannins did not get in the way. The fruit (black cherries) came out in the medium lasting finish.

Dark night garnet color with a non-transparent hue. Powerfull smell as soon as I opened the bottle. Penetrating aroma. Dark chocolate (cacao) flavor with almond and oak. Earthy. Medium bodied and dry. Tannins gush in giving it a high character: rough, harsh, a bit astringent. Long, long, long finish. Tannins stick around until the end. Good potential. Needs another 2 - 3 years.
