5/16/16, 7:47 AM - Hard to compare to Burgundy, though the spice element brings to mind Vosnee Romanee. What I would say in terms of your exploration is that for a wine with comparable age, the 2002 villages and premiers seem to be drinking really well now. I've also found it helpful and a lot of fun to seek out Bourgogne from well known producers to get a sense of style (2010, 12, 13). Some of my tasting notes reflect this. Also don't forget about the Côte de Beaune and some of the lesser Côte de Nuit areas (eg Marsannay) where some relative bargains can still be found.
1/18/16, 3:07 AM - Thanks, will do. Found some 2002s I might pull the trigger on.
3/20/15, 6:19 PM - was the finish as short as your tasting note?
1/25/15, 12:37 PM - Do you think this will improve with age?
3/9/14, 2:42 PM - Great to hear from you Winosis. Great note!
9/23/13, 7:04 AM - Farinas,It just so happened that everyone brought fairly young wines. For my palate, the California Cabs and Syrah as a general rule drink pretty well with 3-15 years of age. (Though certainly exceptions) The Pontet-Canet was definitely consumed too young.
7/15/13, 4:16 PM - Enjoy if you do. I found it showed best just a few degrees below my cellar temp (55).
3/2/13, 5:35 PM - Fixed thanks for pointing that out
