I'm so sad it's my last bottle. This wine has truly come into its own in a way most Pinot Noir never will. If I had another bottle I would drink it tomorrow. Amazing.

Bad bottle? It's not bad - just bad in context. I would hate it if it's falling off already

90 second finish. Still tasting amazing, and is more developed and complex since our last bottle.

This isn't my favorite Fairchild- which means it's still a top notch wine. It's a bit closed now, like a lot of 2008 wines I think it still needs a couple years. Heavy with oak tanin, but wonderful dark fruit that just isn't yet ready to explode like it will soon.

This is tasting amazing. I cannot imagine it getting much better. Simply stunning. I'm gonna save a few bottles but drink the rest.

Had a light musk on the nose that blew off within an hour. Very dark cherry and blackberry flavor to start, with a smooth structured tobacco and leather flavor. Medium to long finish of spice. Very nice- time to open it.

This was my wine of the year last year- and it hasn't closed up like many 07s this year. Amazing wine. Simply fantastic.

Classic mountain fruit and volcanic ash. Nice rich spice notes of turmeric. Tannins are smooth and mature. Drank like a fine left bank. It surprised me.

The nose gives tobacco, leather, dark fruit, and a lot of oak- on the palate it is dark fruits, violet, and smooth silky tanins. The finish is long and velvety. Needs some more time to decant- but this is the wine of 2012 so far for me. I am very impressed.

Black pepper on the nose, dark berry fruits mid palate with a lively if not as long as I would like finish that has a hint of black licorice.

Markedly better than my first bottle which I drank way too young. A lot more open, expressive fruit and great structure. I so wish I had another bottle for 2 years from now...

Too early. Fantastic nose, a little closed off. Great fruit of dark cherries, but balanced with vanilla cedar and a strong finish. Needs to lay down, but a monster in 5 years.

Great fruit forward napa cab- floral palette with a rich cedar nose with a hint of chocolate. Falls off a cliff after a second or two- disappointing for the start.

Good wine, lots of fruit but not much complexity or finish. Not my favorite from Papapietro, but certainly nothing to frown on.

Lots of oak on the nose and finish. Good oak though, don't think silver oak- much smoother oak. Mostly due to the wine making style of Celia Welch (100% new French oak, no Hungarian or American oak here). This is Celia's last vintage with DR Stevens and I hope the style continues. This was a pop and pour right out of the cellar, still cold, so I can see it making its way to 92 with some time to warm and open up.

I have had this before and enjoyed it a lot more. I was drinking it with spicy food, which I realize probably wasn't the best thing for this wine, and it brought out a distinct black licorice on the finish. Very odd- as it was only with the spicy food. It's crazy how food can so dramatically change a wine.

This is the fourth or fifth bottle, and I am always surprised by it. Great cherry fruit, classic sonoma coast pinot noir. A little light on the finish, but a great pinot nonetheless.

This is definitely a top pinot in my mind. Paul Hobbs is an excellent wine maker and he has managed to put together a ripe, fruit forward, juicy wine without losing that structured and delicate finish that makes a fabulous pinot. I am only sad I have only one bottle. My hope is that 2008 is similarly good, as I have 3 of those waiting for me.

It's not the 03, bu it was very good. An initial must on the nose, followed by a nice floral bouquet. Still has some fruit left, but it is definitely ready to drink.

We opened it and drank right away- which was a mistake. After about an hour it showed its fruit a lot more and developed into a fantastic wine.

Very heavy on the oak- I am guessing this is aged in American or Hungarian new oak. With the exception of the dark cherries on the palate, you could easily mistake this for Silver Oak. Additionally, the oak overwhelms the nose. That much oak just isnt for me.

This is what a napa chardonnay should be. This give Newton Unfiltered a run for its money. Crisp, light, no better, little oak, and great citrus and acid.

Great wine, but not as good as their standard Cab. For that I was a little disappointed, but as you can see from the score- still good. Less intense than their standard offerring, but earthy and balanced.

This was fantastic- I was worried it would be past it's prime, but it was right on. It began with a big fruity flavor and finished even bigger. Probably a testament to the 5L bottle size. The cork came out in one piece and the aroma was fantastic.
