A beautiful wine. Resplendent in its balance. Not a hair out of place. I believe this wine will develop and bring pleasure for years and years. I became crazed over this house with the 1982, I have chased with a passion that wine, what it represented to me, and what it was. This is not the 1982, not even close. The 1982 shimmered and shook the foundations of the building. I was disappointed as this was my first taste of the 2016, I was really excited to taste as many reviewers decried this was the 1982 again. I don't want to be a spoiler or discredit this wine as it is very very good....just not the 1982. As always one must taste to know.

Absolutely beautiful, showing dark blue, deep crimson colors, and bouquet of the Pisoni spice to die for. 6 years old, crazy perfect age for Cali Pinot. This one wants many more years. Been tasting and collecting Pisoni estate for over 10 years. This vintage is very age-able. So pleasurable to drink. Maybe have to open another......addicting.
The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like clove. It tastes like blackberry, raspberry, dust, forest floor and nutmeg.

Opened because I was afraid this might have gone past.....not at all, this wine has got at least 5 years more of aging potential if in good cold cellar. Wine picked up weight as it was open. Complexity developed for 2 hours with bouquet expanding. As expected Pisoni baking spice, cherry, raspberry, significant viscosity with some sweetness, and a long finish. Really in a good place right now, but there is no rush.

Nothing but up-side for this intensely fruit forward pinot. I believe this wine is just starting to show its potential. Totally in balance, pure fruit flavors of dark cherry, berry and light mocha. Santa Lucia highlands fruit has an exotic spice note on the long finish. There is no reason to wait because this is a wine offering tremendous pleasure right now....but it is getting better. Re-tasted after 12 hours open and the wine was undiminished and continuing to strut its calliope of flavors and wondrous bouquet.

Opened and decanted at cellar temperature. Let rest for 2 hours as it came up in temperature. Beautiful dark fruits bottle bouquet, deep crimson impenetrable red color, substantial tannins in balance with huge fruit profile of dried cherry, blackberry, finishes chewy with finish that lasts over a minute. Wine is in beautiful drinking window right now but will last at least 5 if not 10 more years. Great pleasure.
