We did a side by side of the 18/19/20 together. The 18 had great fruit but it didn't seem to integrate fully - was a bit all over the map from the middle to the finish. Was lacking the structure that was found in the 19/20. If you don't read my other reviews, 19 was the winner!!

9/11/23, 4:34 PM - Thanks Mike (I assume from the user name). I agree that Saxum can age for many many years. I always try to decant to help. I just struggle being able to age my wines vs drinking them with only a few years on them. It's a me issue!

Dark red fruit - almost jam like in depth and density. Lots of gravel, stone, earthy tones mixed in.

6/1/23, 10:35 AM - For sure needs a solid decant or a few years on it!

Nice fruit structure. Light to medium bodied. But had a racy acid finish that was a little too tart. Hopefully it mellows with some time.

1/5/23, 4:44 PM - Thanks! There is a duplicate. Not sure how that happened.

Needs a good decant. Dark black fruit with a touch of minerality and cocoa. It's got some pep and needs to settle down. Has runway to get better.

2/10/22, 11:10 AM - Not long enough :) Only for about 60 min, a little bit over that like 75 min but not more than 90 min. It has a solid runway for time.

I don't know why.... the holidays... just not sure. But I had to open one. I should not have. Decanted for hours and yes - it's delicious. Deep deep wine. Lots of flavors. Fruit is good but this is way too tannic currently even with the decant. Sit on these bottles. But look forward to how this will evolve over time. Score should go up!

2/10/22, 11:07 AM - Very hard. I am terrible at giving wine time to age. I try I do try….. but I fail all the time.

Clearly not my style of wine. Saw some other reviewers had the same reaction I did. It’s not flawed. But there is a sour note on the finish that just doesn’t work for me. Wife and friends didn’t enjoy it either. Gave it a few hours to open up but it was always there.

10/11/21, 3:22 PM - Thanks for sharing! Yeah, I wanted to like these from all the people I know who enjoy and reco the brand. I tried but something was just off for me and what I look for in a wine.

Decanted the magnum and wow. Just wow. Not sure what else to say. Everyone who tried it - loved it. Just a stunning wine. Depth of flavors balanced on a easy to drink core with a smooth as butter finish. Spice and fruit mixed with a touch of vanilla. Blue and black fruit driven. So delicious.

7/15/21, 11:39 AM - Sorry missed your comment. We decanted for 2-3 hours before pouring.

Mixed dark fruits with vanilla and tobacco notes. Really nice drinking cabernet. Good finish. Wasn't sure what to expect from Moon Mtn but we really enjoyed the bottle.

2/16/18, 9:46 AM - Hey BigTex22 - We did decant but it was a short decant, only 30 min before we started to pour. But we drank it slowly through the evening so by the last glass we were a few hours into it. For my tastes and based on my experience I would target to drink by 2022. I think it will peak in 3-4 years. Hope this message reaches you, wasn't sure how else to reply.
