4 years in the cellar and it need a few more to peak. Super sharp acidity along with fresh fruit like pineapples, green apples, oysters, chalk and a stony minerality. It grows with some food but really would benefit with a few more years horizontally.

In a lovely and mature spot right now. Fruit of cherries and strawberries. Light acidity - just enough. Some cedar, liquorice and undergrowth. Nice velvety feel.

No decant which I should have done. Very young but just starting to show its potential. Very bright red color and fruit which starts to get leverage. Still a bit closed with barnyard, soil, cedar dominating. Best with some powerful food.

Even 6 hours in the decanter didn’t do it. It’s just young and need further cellaring. Lots of promise though. Muted and hidden fruit, cassis, cedar, chocolate, leather...all the classics. Tannins are plentiful.

8 hour decant and it isn’t too much. So young and closed still. Lots of blackberries and rose right in your nose. Quite dry tannic start but gets much better with food. Very powerful and modern Barolo. Long aftertaste and a promise of a long life.

This Champagne is just getting better and better for every time we revisit. Lovely acidity and plenty of fruit to go with it. Citrus, sourdough, yeast, mineral and fine but lively effervescence. So powerful I recommend food with it. Will only improve with further cellaring.

At this point it needs some air and decanting. Initially very closed, acidic and maybe a bit reduced. But after a short time with lots of air it blew off. Lots of persisting acidity and good fruit behind. Lemon zest, candied lemon and pineapple. Butter and vanilla to make it complete. Leave be for some years to make it even better.

A very crisp and acidic white. The fruit is quite subdued and and you have to be a lover of acidity and salinity to appreciate this wine. Goes well with some powerful food. I personally like the fruit to be more forward.

Even after a 6 hour decant it shows quite young and tight. Mellow tannins and fruit not quite in blossom. Cherries (sour) and in general a masculine and rustic wine. Needs more time.

Still a lovely bottle. No decant. After having tasted quite a few 🤔 and a lot of the 2000 also, I must say that 2000 wasn’t their year. Not that it is bad. Just not as good as I would expect from that otherwise excellent year. Very little fruit left. Mostly tertiary notes. Very little tannins and good acidity. I like this wine very much but no need to cellar this anymore.

Oenanthe wrote "Dark red. Leathery and gamey, more meaty" which is exactly what I have. 6 month ago I gave it 6 hours in the decanter which was too much. Now only very little time which made it very closed. Very little tannins but medium acidity. Lots of dark cherries and berries, leather, chocolate and some gamey/iron/blod feeling. Some green grass as well.

A lovely easy drinking wine nearing its end. Meaning it’s quite good but not in need of further cellaring. Almost no acidity but nice fruit (peaches and lemon) Vanilla and a little wood. Good mouthfeel and viscosity. Short aftertaste.

MG, Degorge 2013. Even for a MG this is about time to drink this wine. Ok but weak mousse. Little bit of nice fruit accompanied with acidity. Almost no aftertaste.

8 hour decant. What a monster. Overwhelming blackberries is the first aroma that meets your nose. In the mouth it is blackberries, cherries, cedar, vanilla and chocolate. You feel plenty of tannins but they are just so agreeable and smooth. Thick viscosity and a very long aftertaste. No wonder the prices are soaring on these Vega's but they are worth it. Can’t wait till the 2006 becomes fully mature.

Not at all a Cider drinker but after this one I am certainly going to be. Will look for more. It’s a nice accompaniment with a powerful lunch and then only 4.5% alcohol. Apples (surprise) pear, apricot and a strong smell of "a nice" yeast. Nice acidity that goes well with the fruit.

Popped and poured. But it should have had some air at this early time. Still very tight and doesn’t give much away. Enjoyable though but give it time.

Disgorged 2009. Very mature and quite different from the dry Champagnes I usually drink. It was full of life and lots of different fruit tastes as well as other aromas. But the unusual part was the high dosage. A weak but persistent mousse persisted and the color was "only" straw yellow. It had a long aftertaste and was very complex. A treat to try but not my favourite style.

3 hours decant. This bottle seems like in a perfect place right now. A little barnyard in the beginning but it vanished after half an hour. Lovely fat texture with Blackberries, tobacco, leather, chocolate and an earthiness dominating. Very little acidity and tannin left and drying a bit in the end.

Much too young of course but interesting to taste. Super high acidity but with time and temperature the underlying fruit peeks out. This has potential to be great.

This particular bottle was quite evolved and oxidative. This happens "early" for Bollinger but I don’t mind. Still a great drink with wonderful things happening.

Decanted 8 hours. Still very closed and extremely tannic. Not entirely unapproachable tannins but it definitely needs food at this point. Cherries, balsamico, rose, liquorice, iron, tar, earth. Fruit is so plentiful beneath so I an really looking forward to following it. Great Barolo.

What a great Champagne this has evolved into. Good pop upon opening and small mousse throughout. Light straw colored. Wonderful nose and good mouthfeel. Pineapple and Granny Smith apples plus good salinity, chalk and Brioche. Really only needs the Hazelnuts to be very close to Comtes d C. Super pqr (82€) and in its drinking window now.

First time with this producer and not a convincing experience. This at least was over the hill. Not extremely but don’t save them much longer. Not a lot of charming fruit as I have grown accustomed to with Spatburgunder. Somewhat muted and hard to begin with. But after a short time the age shows and the charm disappears.

Quite ready to drink since this isn’t one for the long run. Very fruity with especially pineapple and the lemon. Not much matchstick and very little acidity (I am afraid) This is quite easy drinkable but I miss the acidity to match the abundance of fruit.

Opened and drank immediately Beautiful light red color and wonderful mature nose. Thick viscosity. When in the mouth you feel the age. Still a good glass but on the downhill. Plums and raisins on the fruity side. But the tertiary notes dominating. An earthy and mature fell dominating (and I like it) Vanilla, leather, tobacco, acetone. Short aftertaste. It’s very easy to drink due to its lack of tannins and acidity. The bottle was almost empty before the meal was ready :-(

Disgorged 2020. Charming and fruity nose with yeast, saffron, citrus and a bit of Cucumber ;-/ It was not bad just funny to actually smell cucumber. Nice creamy texture but lacking a bit of acidity. The mousse a bit short. A good wine for the 38 € i payed.

Wow what a nice experience with my last 1996. Fully mature and tannins nicely integrated. Full and charming nose. In the mouth it initially fills you with mature Bordeaux. But alas the aftertaste is rather short and it dries a bit. Mature Blackberry and black currant. Tobacco, leather, vanilla, wood, graphite and wet undergrowth. Really all the aromas I appreciate in mature Bordeaux. And for the price of the 25€ I payed it is a steal. Time to drink.

Very orange color. Quite acidic and dominating initially. It took a while for it to come around. Last glass was the best. So don’t sweat it if you still have them. The 1996 have this searing acidity which is less of a problem if you have enough to balance it. But in this wine it is too dominating. And you need to appreciate Tertiary notes to enjoy this Champagne. I definitely enjoyed it but it isn’t my preferred style. Too much apricot with high acidity.

The cork came out with a big bang. Surprisingly for such old bottle. Lots of fine mousse throughout the meal. Initially strong acidity prevailed but after about half an hour it came around. And what a wine it still is. Very mature color and also taste. But not oxidised at all. Baked apple and pear on the fruity end. And brioche, sourdough, limestone to accompany. Long aftertaste. Shame it was the last bottle because it will last much longer.

4 years ago I thought this wine should rest for "way later". I still think so. Decanted about 7 hours and it was still very tight and closed. The last sip was the best! Plenty soft tannins together with lots of good stuffing gives the wine a good future. But patience is required. Serve with powerful food now and it works.

What a lovely treat straight out of the bottle. A little funky, barnyard to begin with but it blew off. Buttermilk and forrest strawberries dominate the nose with a little pepper and vanilla on top. So charming and lovely now. Doesn’t sit well with a big steak though. But no matter we almost finished the bottle before dinner.
