2013 Antinori Tignanello Toscana IGT SuperTuscan Blend
By the glass from Coravin at Mercato Centrale in Florence. Nose of red fruit, cigar box, mushrooms. On the palate, silky, full bodiedz ripe fruit, mature fruit, dried herbs. Medium finish with integrated tannin, vanilla notes. Drinking great right now.

Decanted for a couple hours. Dark red with a ruby rim in the glass. Muted nose of ripe cherry. On the palate, ripe dark red fruit, sweetness, heat. Short finish of bitter fruit, tannin.

A forgettable wine, for better or worse.

12/22/21, 5:23 PM - IF 2 hours of decanting is too MUCH air for a young wine I THINK there might be a problem with the wine, not with the air.

Quite good. Decanted for 30 minutes. Slight tannins on the finish. After an hour in the glass it started to fade. Drink now.

6/10/13, 1:55 PM - I probably should have been clearer about it "fading"--more like the secondary characteristics (raisins, stewed fruit, spice) were really starting to outshine the fruit. By all means this could go for another few years. No bothersome heat that I can recall. Well balanced with some beautiful fruit and herbal notes. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more of it. Enjoy your bottles.

PnP. Great bottle. Incredibly dark in the glass. Nose of mint/menthol, herbs and dark brooding fruit. On the palate, smooth mouthfeel, more herbs, menthol and dark tart and sweet fruit. Medium finish of tart fruit and tanning. Overall still very, very young but drinking very well. A great bdx for $17. Will buy more.
