1995 Iron Horse Vineyards Classic Vintage Brut Green Valley of Russian River Valley Champagne Blend (view label images)
Received as a surprise for my birthday. Enjoyed it over dinner last night. Definitely showing the age but very drinkable as an aged sparkler. Nice mouthfeel, minimal bubbles at this point.
Red
This was really singing last night.
Bright red fruit, great acidity.

By far my favorite of the since close outs I’ve tried. Fairly ripe, almost zin like. Medium bodied great fruit profile. Solid buy!
Red
This bottle was pretty lousy.
Lighter style Grenache but weirdly felt over extracted. Maybe too much oak and manipulation. I’d pass on this in the future.

This was ok day 1, it fell apart on day 2.

This was tasty yet super generic. One of those wines that’s enjoyable to drink but leaves very little overall impression.

Not good, not great just pretty meh, not a rebuy.
Rosé
This was really good, ripe watermelon, great acidity, a good bulk buy candidate.

This was solid juice, sadly/happily found at grocery outlet for $10. Very hearty and a bit leathery, great with tri-tip. Felt more medium bodied though than a heavy cab. Will be getting more.

Drank this over the weekend.
Fairly generic, not much to write about here.
Medium body, tart, generic red fruit profile. No tannins, no noticeable alcohol. Decent with food but still not something to run out and grab.

Not good, not bad. Very average, kinda supermarket mid shelf...

Picked up at GO and this is a great bottle at $5.
Solid Cabernet.
Day 2: this completely fell apart. Completely different from yesterday. Not great at all.
Rosé
This was beautiful last night. Great acid, very vibrant, fruit shines through. Isa is spot on year after year. Great bottle with family over for thanksgiving.

Didn't love this wine, a bit more funk than I wanted and not nearly the light bodied food wine I was hoping for on my thanksgiving table. Would not buy again. Another miss from underground cellars.

I have enjoyed well made aged Chards before with many more years under the belt that felt very fresh and vibrant. This is not one of those. Its fading and feeling heavy. Oak seems well integrated at this point. Another miss from underground cellars.

I typically love Grenache and I do really like Municipal winemakers/Potek, this wasn't my cup of tea though. It showed typical Grenache flavors and body but nothing distinct or memorable about it. Drank over 2 nights so I know it got enough air.

Excellent with lasagna, great on its own. Unfortunately my last of this set. :(
An auto buy for the future.
Red
I’ve had two of these now and really didn’t care for it either time. To woody, a little funk initially but never the fruit I was hoping for. Acquired from underground cellars as random bottles and not satisfied with these.
Rosé
Very tasty, great acidity. Solid fruit.
Excellent
Red
This was straight up delicious.
Great in its own, great with a steak.

Decent bottle of Pinot noir at the ol’ grocery outlet for around $8 or $9. Far from the best QPR Pinot find there but very drinkable. Not bad.
Red
This is really doing well.
Typical heavier Syrah notes, not over extracted or Oaked. Great with a nice steak.

I think these are primed up.
White
Really not great.
Would not buy this again from underground cellars.
White
This was not good straight away after a pnp, got much better with time in glass.nice medium bodied food friendly white. Would buy again.
Red
Much better than the last one which down the drain. Really nice fruit, restrained oak. Would buy again if spotted at GO.

2010 Astrale e Terra Arcturus Napa Valley Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
This really punched above it’s price point. Showing some really nice developed fruit. Absolutely tasty right now. Wish I had bought another to work on for a few more years.
Rosé - Sparkling
Solid bottle, good quality bubbles, more of a copper wine than rose. Would drink again.
Red - Fortified
Going strong, really nice with dark chocolate
Red
Simply delightful with prime rib Xmas dinner.

This was oddly funky for the 2-3 hours it was open. Definitely not how it tasted in the tasting room...

I have 1/2 left, I’ll try it later this week to see if it resolved.
Red
I’ve found these at my local grocery outlet at around $5. It’s good at that price but not sure I’d pay more. Good mid week bottle, pretty non-descript. Pour 1/2 in with the pot roast and drink the rest.

Past it's prime, color is fading, initial nose is slightly sour. Wouldn’t buy more at this point.

After about an hour it opened and got a bit more balanced.
Red
Really nice bottle at the grocery outlet price, great typical Syrah flavor profile. Well balanced. Needs about an hour to really open up.

Decent bottle, full bodied, dark fruit, minimal oak, slight menthol, Noticeable alcohol. Doesn’t feel like a big cab, food friendly, not much in the way of tannins. At $10 at grocery outlet this is decent not great.

Bought these several years ago from a discounter and really couldn’t be happier with the progress this is making. Just wish I gmhad another case aging nicely in the cellar. Nice wine!
Red
This was advertised as good as a chilled bottle. It’s a bit heavy for a rose but still quite good chilled. Nice bottle, light bodied Grenache and definitely fruit forward. Minimal if any oak, moderate alcohol.
Red
Really tasty tonight with pulled pork. Not heavy or over extracted. Almost pretty with nice floral nose. This aged well.
Red
Possibly a bad bottle, bitter, a bit green. Not enjoyable.
Red
Very grapey, cheap wood and vanilla. Nothing good here.
Red
This was a solid Pinot. Good Monterey fruit, some spice in the nose. Nothing to not like here.
Red
This came across as sweet a bit tart and pruned. Don't know what happened here but a disappointment to say the least.

I had high hopes here, single vineyard Syrah with some age on it at grocery outlet for $6.

It's hot and jammy, not much to like here.

I did not like this bottle as much as the old vine zin I've had from this producer in the past. Perfectly drinkable but was expecting more from it.
White
Nice bottle from a known producer from the Monterey. Pretty typical CA Sauvignon blanc, lots of fruit and acidity but nothing really memorable.
White
Found this at grocery outlet outlet for $4. Pretty average for a central coast chard. Good weight, good fruit still, maybe a tad on the flabby side.
Rosé
2017 Apriori Rosé Sangiacomo Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Blend, Pinot Noir (view label images)
Great rose buy from casemates, hopefully it gets offered again.
Red
Had this a couple weeks back, great fruit, simple structure but very tasty. Would buy again.
