Opaque purplish color to the rim...Nose of plum , and black currant with hints of kirsch and camphor. Soft , and silky on the attack with blackberry fruit driving the anise flavored bus up front...mid palate isn't thin like most 08's , but there is a definite oak signature and a lot of heat which lasts through the finish. I've yet to have a bad wine from this producer , but not sure if ANY 08 is worth $100

Lovely dark ruby core with an ever so slight presence of meniscus fade...heavenly aromas of baked raspberry , pie crust , black licorice , and lavender...palate shows raspberry fruit and anise up front with a slight hint of tobacco...medium to full bodied...mid palate shows dark fruit , and bramble with a bit of heat picking up....black pepper , and loads of fruit in the finish which lingers nicely!

Opaque purplish core lightens to ruby colored rim. Nose of black cassis , baked pie crust , white flowers , and lavender....palate defies the nose and shows an elegant styled wine with blackberry , and graphite flavors up front in a light weight for the genre ...mid palate wound pretty tight but shows crushed rock , cassis fruit , and smoke...long dry finish

Inky purplish core with hints of ruby all the way to the rim.
Pronounced nose of blackberry cobbler fresh from the oven , lavender , and freshly cut white flowers. Concentrated flavors of blackberry and raspberry up front in a medium weight. Mid palate shows star anise , cinnamon , and hints of marzipan. Long , intense , lingering finish with nuances of black fruit.

Audouzed for 5 hours :
opaque purplish ruby color almost to the rim.
Nose of fresh purée of raspberry , mint , earthy mushroom,
and BBQ spices. Lush raspberry , and black cherry flavors up front
in a medium to full weight. Nice and crisp in the mid palate suggesting
a good candidacy for ageability....flavors of strawberry and dark chocolate
are identifiable though the wine is still very tight. Nice long lingering finish.
These 07 haters ain't gonna like this.

Audouzed for 2.5 hours...
Opaque purplish ruby color almost to the rim. Slightly pink in the meniscus. Nose of garrigue , raspberry purée , cracked black pepper , and cherry blossom. Soft , lush raspberry fruit flavors on the attack with anisette , and cherry. Mid palate shows smoke , and black pepper with hints of earthy mushroom. Still tight in the finish , but a beautifully crafted , precise expression of 80 year old Grenache vines.

Here are my notes :
Audouzed for 8 hours....
Purplish ruby core with a slightly pink meniscus.
Really different nose with aromas of beef blood , raspberry ,
BBQ smoke , scorched earth , and an herbaceous quality
similar to what one would in chartreuse. It seems like the mourvedre , and
syrah are asleep or something with the Grenache wide awake as the palate
seemed thin and disjointed at first , but in hour 8 has filled out nicely with raspberry
and mineral on the attack. Smoke and anise in the mid palate with black pepper picking up in the finish.

Beautiful golden color. Wonderful nose of lemon zest , fig purée , and
red apple slices with a hint of bread dough. On the palate it shows the apple
flavor in spades , and also a bitter quince quality. Turns creamy in the mid palate with minerals galore. Nice zippy finish! Nice starter for a CdP finish!

is good!

This Saint-Emilion Grand Cru is in a prime drinking window for my tastes. Solid ruby core with a slight meniscus fade to amber. Nose of forest floor , ripe plum , roasted herb , and vanilla bean. Elegantly styled on the palate with flavors of kirsch , plum , and bay leaf up front in a medium weight. Mid palate shows eucalytus , coffee , and more cherries. Long dry lingering finish.

Opaque purplish ruby color all the way to the rim. Nose of smoke , raspberry purée , hot stones , and lavender. Tasted for the second time , I remain convinced that this is one of the better values to be found PERIOD. On the palate huge concentrated flavors of plum , spice, raspberry , and smoke. Mid palate is dense with flavors of black pepper , cherry , anise , and new leather. Long dry finish abounds with spicy fruit flavors lingering.

Purplish ruby core expands to a slightly pink meniscus. Dusty strawberry and raspberry aromas in the nose with a slight hint of fennel in the background. Framboise , and ripe cherry flavors up front in a medium weight. Melted black licorice and a hint of plum in the mid palate. Good length in the finish. Really good Chateauneuf from a great vintage.

for a 100% Grenache cuvee this is huge!!
Concentrated flavors of black raspberry , black cherry , clove, and cinnamon up front in a medium weight. Mid palate shows some heat along with more cherries and plums. Long lingering finish...beautifully done from La Crau vines planted in 1899.

Nice ruby colored core...color notably lighter than a lot of the other 07 chateauneufs I have consumed recently.
Slightly jammy nose of raspberry and blackberry purée with a distinct crushed vitamin aroma. Intensely concentrated flavors of raspberry , plum , anise , and black pepper in a medium weight. This is a seriously endowed wine with almost painful fruit concentration that belies its' light color...a bit of heat picks up in the mid palate. Ridiculously long , spice laden finish.
