3/27/23, 1:55 PM - Thanks for your comment.It's a typo error: corrected to 89.
3/9/23, 11:33 AM - this is quite a good wine.if the 2nd bottle score was 89 - why didn't you put 89 as the score?83 isn't the right score for this wine. perhaps the 1st bottle was flawed.
8/21/22, 6:36 PM - יבואן לישראל?אין לי מושגהובא אישית מחו״ל
6/18/22, 10:55 PM - Almost at peak = surely ready to drink
6/4/22, 10:57 AM - true - it wasn't a blind tasting
4/3/15, 6:31 AM - Hello Mark,Perhaps you should consider buying a Coravin, like me, then you'll be able to enjoy a single bottle during several years…Happy Passover!Yagil
4/19/22, 10:52 PM - Bravo for buying the Coravin.Recently I replaced my 10-years-old Coravin with a newer Coravin version.I also bought the Pivot for easier use with bottles that are planned to be consumed within less than one month (but not on first day). The Pivot is very user-friendly & fast-pour vs the traditional Coravin.
12/22/21, 12:00 AM - jazzwineman - you're right!
9/30/21, 12:08 PM - at worst case you encountered a bottle variation;try another bottle, give it 15-20 at least to breeze - and you'll find a delicate charming wine.
8/9/21, 12:03 AM - A standard Montalcino?(it's a Vino Nobile di Montepulciano...)
7/3/21, 3:34 AM - Not at all
6/13/21, 5:59 PM - typo errorshould have been 82 at most
3/24/21, 11:48 AM - Frankl, I don't recall.Perhaps the second note referred to Brunello...P.S.What's "Gordon's (Waltham MA USA) offer "?
11/23/20, 9:40 PM - having read your tasting note - does it really deserve 93 points?I doubt...
11/12/20, 5:34 AM - I heard from David Silverman that this is 2019 vintage - although it's not mentioned on the label...
10/22/20, 4:40 AM - Hello DaveI believe that the magnum is already ready - but can be further aged. You can either review the many TN on CT and search for opinions about its readiness, alternatively, you can consult with Le MacchioleHope this helps,Yagil
6/22/20, 12:47 AM - very good
1/31/20, 11:15 PM - this score (87) reflects my subjective impression.perhaps the wine wasn't aerated enough or a bottle variation - but surely it was below my expectation from this wine.
10/15/19, 2:40 AM - T
5/14/19, 9:23 PM - Grape variety: Verdejo 100%Best served at between 8º and 10ºCFood Pairing: This wine pairs well with fish, shellfish, ham, pasta dishes, chicken and cold meat.reference: https://www.marquesderiscal.com/vinos_detalleeng.php?id=22
4/6/19, 6:24 AM - There's NO red wine that is enjoyable at 24c !In all wine related literature red wine serving temp is 18-19c !https://www.google.com/search?q=red+wine+serving+temperature+celsius&oq=red+wine+serving+temperature&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0l5.8193j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

4/6/19, 8:32 AM - Well, this is probably unique to you. You're a rare person. From the hundreds of wine friends I've and after having visited over 1000 wineries in the past 10 years - nobody liked red wine served above 20c at most. This is my experience and my preference - which seem to be common to the vast majority of wine lovers. The fact that in Israel wine (in restaurants or wine shops) is sometimes served above 20c - doesn't make it right. When I host friends, or being hosted by friends, or enjoy wine in a restaurant - it's always served at right temperature range - as this issue is being taken care of.This is a commonly agreed issue by the absolute majority. I believe you're aware to this. But it's your right to enjoy a warmer wine...Cheers!
3/20/19, 9:18 PM - Hello Daveyou can enjoy this great vintage anytime (at least) through 2030 once it's properly stored.I bet you're going to open it for somme event - after all it's like 4 bottles quantity wise.best regards,Yagil
3/22/19, 1:53 PM - re optimal drinking window for any wineon CT you can easily find "crowd-wisdom" recommendationsand on Wine-Searcher you can find "experts" recommendationif you really want to be perfect with yourself - consult the winery :-)
3/2/19, 2:30 PM - Thanks for your comment
11/21/18, 9:27 PM - Hello WineKnurd - Thanks for your comment. This tasting took place during WSET Level 3 course and it was the general opinion among us re this this specific bottle during blind tasting.Once knowing the wine I certainly agree with you that generally this wine can age further.
11/22/18, 12:14 AM - Hello Danielgbm - thanks for your comment and your encouragement to re-taste this bottle - which I'll certainly do.BTW - where're you from Daniel?
7/9/18, 6:36 AM - Generally, top notch Israeli wines, such as the Castel Grand Vin, are at their best 6-12 years after vintage, IMHO. Particularly, 2015 wasn't an outstanding vintage for the Castel Grand Vin...for more info exchange - please contact me by email.andrew@cellartracker.com will share it with you...
10/13/17, 3:25 PM - the wine is not very ripe rather young.best drinking period is 2018-2025
9/22/17, 4:10 AM - Shana Tova ULYONIt's time to enjoy this wine, as it won't improve with further ageing, more likely to become obsolete. You can get my email from andrew@cellartracker.com and join my tasting events group in Tel Aviv.
3/10/17, 8:04 PM - hellowith CT help, as from now you can see two different wine:- 2011 Château Tour Perey St. Emilion GCC- 2011 Château Tour Perey Malbec
1/13/17, 10:49 PM - Google Translation (with partial modifications) of the Hebrew label:One (Une en Frnaçais)Dry white wineIn a late August chilly night, at the foot of Mount Meron, the Chardonnay grapes were harvested by hand.At dawn they were brought to the winery, sorted, separated and gently crushed. The fermentation process took place done in stainless steel tanks and in French oak barrels, as well as the ageing (sur lies)The wine has aromas of fresh lemon, is floral and slightly mineral. The wine is elegant, complex and refreshing.11.5% alcohol by volume.
12/23/16, 7:33 AM - 12 years old Numanthia, from an excellent vintage, requires 12-18 hours advance opening, or 6 hours of decanting,or, wait till it's 20 years old...both ways you'll enjoy this wine a lot!!! cheers!
12/7/16, 8:54 PM - several reasons, such as:- bottle variation- (poor) cellaring conditions of a specific bottle- subjective impression of the taster- wine evolutionetc.
9/10/16, 7:14 PM - Sure. This wine requires early decanting or ventilation. So a practical way is to pour half bottle into an empty bottle, re-cork both, and let these horizontally in your wine cooler (or cooled wine cellar)
8/28/16, 6:56 PM - Hello Ajvandet,if what you have are not Special Reseve and surely if weren't stored at 16c or less - you shouldn't expect these to be drinkable any more
8/29/16, 10:36 AM - it's unlikely that these wines are still drinkable
7/7/16, 12:57 PM - It's ready now and can nicely age 5-10 years more
6/11/16, 1:39 PM - according to the winemaker, Ido Lewinsohn: 100% of the wine aged during 9 months in french oak barrels, of which 10% new, rest in barrels of different ages up to 7.
6/11/16, 11:55 AM - Today Israeli wines are being exported in large. Only recently there was an international wine exhibition in China in which many Isrseli wineries exhibited. Alternatively I can connect you to any of the top Isrseli wineries.
3/2/16, 5:51 AM - thank you!
2/4/16, 3:24 AM - you're more than welcome to taste it at my home...
10/5/15, 1:53 AM - Hello,Should you like to try higher level Israeli wines - please let me know when your visit is planned...BR,Yagil, TLV
9/22/15, 10:44 AM - hi,you write Barbera twice in this TN - but this wine is made of Nebbiolo grapes...
8/27/15, 7:10 AM - Hello ODDSthanks for your comment. while we both fancy great BX wines, your advantage is that you have in NYC (and in The US) a much wider choice of BX wines at attractive prices!I'm hunting my great BX in Europe and carry these home. You know well that you can find great BX in The US via wine-searcher.comand/or use a Coravin to sample a worthy bottle multiple times.I'm sure you knew all this before...
8/18/15, 8:55 AM - after 28 years of age?
7/27/15, 2:51 AM - Sure - you can wait 5-10 years for letting the ageing improve this wine
3/18/15, 2:53 PM - I doubt if it'll improve. probably not. but already great. better nose then the 2000 vintage, but inferior on the palate as the 2000 is more complex.
12/29/14, 2:40 AM - could it be a flawed bottle?
10/11/14, 6:18 AM - Hello,IMHO, there's no decent Pinot Noir in Israel….Bourgogne is my benchmark.Never tasted CA PN yet… next month will be the first one...
9/26/14, 10:41 PM - Hi,a good Margalit should be aged for at least 6 years…. and enjoyed until it's 12 years old, generally.
9/26/14, 9:31 PM - if you ever eat bad food in a good-reputation restaurant - would you stop eating in this restaurant?! or ask to replace your plate? give this wine another chance. better if you can visit this winery and get to know the person and the wines.
9/25/14, 7:19 PM - Hello _XenonWell, in the Janasse this is not the case. We used Coravin to take 1/3 of the wine out of the bottle - and it was immediately undrinkable. It happened also with 2 bottles of 2001 Beaucastel CDP during the last 12 months. I love CDP, visited there few times, but those recent unpleasant events make you feel strange about this appellation, sometimes.
9/14/14, 7:20 AM - hello, why not write a TASTING STORY and include all these wines you tasted above, instead of putting it in a TASTING NOTE?
9/17/14, 7:27 AM - I fully agree with you.And the TASTING STROY enables you the ideal space for this, so that viewers watching your TN can browse your TASTING STROY.But when one is interested at a specific wine TN and encounters your TASTING STROY in it, he's most likely to skip it and avoid the tedious task of finding the required line in the long text.So it's a lose-lose situation. The proof to this is that you're the only one so far that wrote a TS in a TN…
4/21/14, 9:39 AM - Hi,What did you mean by "guessing it is a blend"? of parcels? In Burgundy all red are 100% Pinot Noir...
4/22/14, 11:14 PM - isn't this obvious?!IMHO it goes without saying - since according to the label it's a regional wine (of Nuits Saints Georges appellation) as there's no specific vineyard mentioned on the label.
4/23/14, 7:40 AM - Not at all. I agree with you 100%.Your comment is aimed at the connoisseurs, not the crowd!I my self enjoyed the 2004 Leroy Bourgogne which included their Grand Cru and 1er Cru of that vintage, for reasons you're probably familiar with...
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
