Lovely mint and eucalyptus nose. Some secondary flavours coming through with vegetal notes on the palate. Very nice wine for Australia Day. Wish I had more.

Champs league final and Scott's Texas Ironman. Lived up to both events. Secondary, slightly funky and dirty. Just how I like it. Length lived up to the two events being followed. Extra time in champs league and over 9.5 hours for the ironman..

A massive improvement here compared to my last bottle. What a difference a year can make. Settled down and showing all the hallmarks of a great NZ pinot.

- Yellow color - Took a little while to open up, but did so nicely when it did. Fair whack of minerality (is that a word?). Good fruit. Will last a little while longer.

Drunk to celebrate Cadel's win in la Tour. Nice but not amazing, unlike Cadel's performance..

I thought this wine was tired. Lacked fruit and vibrancy. Think it is past it.

Decanted for an hour. A little closed at first, but opened up nicely with time. Plenty of fruit. Still loads of time left in this.

A mellowed drop with just a hint of ageing colour on the rim. Sweet fruit on the nose and pallet. I will leave my remaining bottle for 2 more years.

Second bottle of this that I have had. Really still not convinced. I think it will be fantastic in 5 years time but very unapproachable at the moment. I will keep my remaining 6 bottles for at least another 3 years.

Great nose. I smelt it after popping the cork without getting anywhere near the bottle. I get alot of dark fruits, spice and dirt on the palate. Good length for a second label.

I couldn't help myself but try one of these. Has all the business, but needs a good couple of years to settle down. At the moment it's too big and bold and the alcohol dominates. Will try again in 3 years..

Way too young. Very nice structure that has everything needed for a great wine. Needs 5 years to develop.

Nice aged yellow colour.Ripe mellon on the nose. Lovely flinty chard with plenty of mineral in the aftertaste. Some mould on the cork but didn't appear to impact the wine.

Nice cherry and red fruits. Slightly sweet with a little spice (maybe not enough). Oak is nicely integrated. Great wine that I would buy again and again at this price. Paired exceptionally well with a roast chicken.

Decanted for an 1 1/2 hours. Had a glass and left for a few hours. Much better the second time. Good typical MR Cab sav. Black fruit and some secondary flavours coming through on the palate. Medium finish.

2 hour decant. Chaged in the glass over the course of the meal. Very 'farmyardy' with some rustic secondary flavours coming through. A slight sweetness on the palate that you do not get on the nose. Still has time.

Nice slightly yeasty nose. Apple and pear fruit in the mouth. Excellent mousse. Good refreshing bubbly that we intended to have before dinner but the final third ended up being consumed with the stir fry - A surprisingly good match!

Not sure about this. Not sure if there were storage issues, if slightly tainted or it was past its best. Didn't give me a nice yeasty smell on the nose and the fruit appeared absent.

Decanted for 1/2 hour. Still big and chocolatey with tannins to burn. Mellowed over time. Could still age for another 3-4 years.
