Revised my rating from 94 to 97 because this wine is righteous! Tasted through all of my 2008 WS Pinots recently and this is showing the best. World class combination of New World fruit with Old World wine making technique.

OMG! New world converges with old world. Amazing fruit and earth integration like a Grand Cru DRC. I am pleasantly shocked and awed. Kind of speechless at the moment.

Best Virginia red wine we have ever tasted! Did not smell or taste like New World so very impressive! Will purchase another bottle to cellar if in the area again. Agree with tasting notes below from DoctorNoah.

Excellent QPR Rosé de Saignée! Ready to drink now but may continue to improve over the next 3-5 years! Patience has been rewarded and the 93 rating is conservative. Make sure bottle is extremely chilled before opening because this is an exploder (has enough pressure built up so cork will pop when the cage is taken off).

What an amazing Arneis! This continues to pick up weight and improve in the bottle. PnP at Enoteca Sogno and paired with pan-seared sea scallops in a balsamic reduction with arugula. It simply does not any better than this!

Now this is a QPR Brunello di Montalcino at it's finest hour! PnP at Enoteca Sogno and paired with Gary's signature Duck confit! Still has fresh notes of tobacco and saddle leather along with well balanced black fruits and integrated, silky smooth tannins! May continue to improve for a few years but why wait any longer?

Drank with Linda, Terry, and Susan at Enteca Sogno after we finished the 1994 Dal Forno Valpolicella. This wine was also at it's peak drinking window with notes of blackberry, chocolate, and roasted meats along with truffle and asphalt (tar). Will take the 1997 for a test drive this weekend! Drink up if you have any left in the cellar!

Drank with Linda, Terry, and Susan at Enteca Sogno. My concerns about this being over the hill were definitely proven wrong! This wine was wonderful and at it's peak drinking window! The layers of fruit and spice unfolded beautifully as the wine opened up in the glass. Anyone out there ever tasted a 20 year old Valpolicella? LOL! Sadly this is my last bottle but will move on to the 1995 vintage for a test drive this weekend!

Crisp, clean, but a complex and elegant Arneis with wonderful acidity and a silky smooth texture revealing notes of apples, pears, honeysuckle, almonds, and assorted wild flowers. Bright fruit and acidity leaps from the glass and extremely refreshing and satisfying. Unbelievable with food (try it with sashimi) but fantastic solo immediately right out the bottle. Best vintage of Brovia Arneis ever and perhaps the finest Arneis ever tasted per the Wine Guys in DC. Bravo Brovia for clicking it up a substantial notch!

Tasted with Booth the Burgundy Hound at Barrel Thief. He smiled due to subtle yet stylistic hints of a great red Burgundy from France but also showing the wonderful bright fruit we expect from a new world Pinot Noir.

Gorgeous and IMHO this will not get any better and should be consumed over the next year. Do not let it fall off a cliff like the 2001 vintage. The Fat Man (a precious term of endearment) had an entire six pack of 2001 that was oxidized. It made our eyes swell with tears each time we opened a bottle and tasted it this calendar year. Experience the 2005 while it is at peak drinking window. Tasting notes consistent with Kriz dated 8/27/2011.

Drank with friends and family for 52nd birthday dinner at Enoteca Sogno. Just like last year liquid crème brûlée is the best way to describe this wine. Fresh caramel and layers of velvety tropical and domestic fruits coat the palate yet delivers a weightless but beautiful lingering finish. One of the most decadent wines on the planet it must be tasted to be believed. Excellent balance and acidity then paired with an amazing homemade tiramisu I was happy to be alive!

Drank with friends and family for 52nd birthday dinner at Enoteca Sogno. A powerful but well balanced Merlot at its peak drinking window. Probably merits a higher score but it was consumed by four people in about 30 minutes it was so delicious!

Drank with friends and family for 52nd birthday dinner at Enoteca Sogno. Still going strong after 15 years in the bottle! Very little bricking for an aged 100% Sangiovese. Layers of complexity unfolded as the wine opened up over a few hours. Will wait a few years before popping another bottle because it may actually improve!

This is a voluptuous, hedonistic, incredibly well balanced effort that with years of patience has finally hit its sweet spot. Drink up now because it will not get better and possibly fall over a cliff.

This is ready my friends! Even better on day two. Layers of weightless tropical fruits flow over the palate and then just vanish right when you expect some horrid high alcohol afterburner disappointment. One of the cleanest finishes I have ever experienced.

A very young baby that opened up superbly on day two. Poured one glass on day one and put bottle in fridge. Came back on day two and it was shining. Very Burgundian taste profile. Delicious!

Exact match of bottle consumed on 8/1/2012. Drink now and enjoy it a peak drinking window. Awesome creamy butterscotch with tropical fruit galore this wine is smoking! No longer a green tinged pale yellow color but more golden like a Y'Quem. Not oxidized but oak has melted away and this appears fully mature.

Tasting notes consistent with last bottle consumed on 3/1/2010 and rated 97 points. Lower rating this time probably because of the extreme summer heat. Just don't enjoy the big reds as much when it is 97 degrees out!

Drank with Pedro and Kashi at Big Mama's Hacienda. Tasted then blended with 1997 Phelps Cabernet to make the poor man's Insignia meritage (blend of 80% Cabernet/20% Merlot). Missing the Petite Verdot in blend but it still turned out great.
