This is my second bottle of this wine. I rated the first a 92, and recall it being full bodied, complex, and extremely well-balanced. I don't know what happened with this second bottle, but it was thin, lighter bodied, and not particularly complex.

Big, meaty, full-bodied ... a typical Herman Story. This wine has aged wonderfully and is in a great place right now.

Too extracted and sweet, without enough structure. There are better options in this price range. I had heard a lot of positives about this wine, but was not impressed.

Very nice. This wine was much lighter than expected given its composition, but it is very well balanced and flavorful. Easy to pair easy to sip. It's a 2022 vintage, so still quite young, but ready to enjoy.

Tight, astringent. I didn't enjoy at all.

Very nice. Tannins are firm. Though it can be sipped alone, I prefer it with food.

Herman Story continues to be my favorite winery for big, bold reds. This wine is amazing. It's in a great place now, and will likely remain here for a few more years. Patience in drinking this one has paid off.

Very tight. Notes of pepper and smoke. Nothing wrong with it, but not for me.

If you're looking to reduce your wine consumption, just buy this wine. You won't be able to drink much of it. Maybe it's cherry syrup mislabeled as pinot noir?

Meomi used to be decent wine for the price. Not sure what went wrong here. Definitely not going to buy this again.

Very crisp and clean. Some stone fruit, tropical fruit, and salinity. Bright acidity. Overall very nicely done.

Floral and light fruit on the nose. Medium bodied for a Pinot. It was described as an old world meets new world style, which I would agree with.

Big and bold, firm tannins, dark color. Pairs wonderfully with meat, but a bit too tannic to sip on its own.

Dark in color, big and bold flavors, firm tannins. Good QPR.

Nice pinot. A little tight, but opened up by second day.

Not bad at all, but not typical of Opolo zinfandel. A bit too tart and tannic. I don't typically age zinfandel too long, but I believe this one could age a while longer.

Very tight initially. Definitely needed to open up a while, after which it was very enjoyable.

Amazing. Time in bottle has done wonders for an already great wine.

Just incredible. It's in the big, bold, classic Herman Story style, but this bottle just seemed more complex and refined than normal.

Something had gone wrong. Not typical TCA taint, but I don't know exactly what it was. Organic solvent on the nose, light and flowery on the palate. Not drinkable.

Just amazing. In the classic Tensley style, yet particularly well refined. I've enjoyed Thompson Vineyard syrah more than ever these past few vintages. Wish I had more of this.

Light and thin. Just not much going on at all. I've had far better $8 wines.

This is a pretty thin, lightweight pinot. I had a different expectation coming from Joey Tensley. I'd analogize it to a bargain grocery store pinot.

One of my favorite wines from Andrew Murray. I didn't take notes, but can comment that this wine is big yet versatile.

This might be the most intense rose I've ever consumed. Absolutely delicious. It's either a rose that wants to be a red, or a red that wants to be a rose.

Relatively light for an Andrew Murray Syrah, but this quality made it easy to pair and a joy to sip. Very nicely done.

This is a great Santa Barbara Syrah. It has a lot of fruit, but isn't a fruit bomb, and retains a lot of complexity. It's a high-quality Syrah that's well-structured, easy drinking, and sure to please a wine-loving crowd. It's very ready to drink now, but likely can be aged for a few more years.
