Red
1996 Château Angélus St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend
May Meeting of Friendless Drinkers Club (Vancouver Club): Double decanted for 2.5 hours and then poured into decanter right before drinking.

At first, very soft and subtle. With more time in the glass became fuller and had more body. On the light side for Angelus. in its drinking range for sure. Not that fruity. Almost dried fruit, like raisins or dried blueberries. Dried flowers, earthy. Very smooth tannins and leathery feel. Weird vintage for Angelus since blend of 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot (normally Angelus has more Merlot than Cabernet Franc)

5/18/19, 12:46 PM - Correct blend: 60% CF 40% Merlot - highest part og CF in all vintages of Angelus
