3/5/23, 1:14 PM - Absolutely, this is ready to go.
1/13/23, 7:48 PM - I'm with you on this. Light, pure, and balanced but how about just a wee bit of oak.
12/25/22, 11:09 AM - Glad you had a wonderful bottle. I've enjoyed this a few times but I've yet to find it a WOW wine! Mind you, its been very good. But I'm an optimist so I'm hoping next bottle is special.
11/30/22, 1:13 PM - Do bubbles get better than this? Me thinks no. As I look at the embedded wine-searcher.com price, I wonder when I'll open my final bottle.....
7/28/22, 10:41 AM - Quite the line up, impressive! Some how my invite got lost in the mail again!
7/17/22, 4:37 PM - We just opened the 1st of 6 bottles. Great QPR indeed! Your comment about "candied raspberries" is spot on.
5/20/22, 10:31 AM - Agreed with your note. As my wife recently said, "... this is now a wine for people who don't need to earn a paycheck..."
3/23/22, 11:32 AM - I agree completely with your note. A wine to make your week... or month!
3/22/22, 12:16 PM - Wow! This rivals your recent Ch. Angelus tasting.
2/3/22, 4:06 PM - Agreed! Spot on note.
12/16/21, 9:17 AM - Agreed. I said about my first bottle in '17, ".. not a bad wine but probably never a great one either....."I myself am in the wine drinking business but there's always the secondary market for your other bottles!
12/7/21, 9:13 PM - Hargy, Agreed. I too found this good but expecting more. There's always next time!
11/25/21, 11:51 AM - An impressive line up! Was this an industry tasting or a personal collection? I've had quite a few vintages of Angelus in one sitting but nothing like this.https://www.cellartracker.com/event.asp?iEvent=35323
11/25/21, 11:50 AM - Great note, thanks. I also picked this up at auction. I think your note has motivated me to open this up with a gluttonous turkey meal today.
11/22/21, 7:32 PM - Sounds intriguing. If you don't mind me asking, where did you find this? Thanks, Scott
11/24/21, 9:39 AM - Thanks. Well dagnabbit, I was just in Oakbrook.
11/5/21, 8:44 AM - I've also found the '05 a mixed bag. But I've had enough older vintages of this that it can shine with a bit of age. Mind you, I wouldn't bother going for more than 20 year with this wine.
11/1/21, 5:03 PM - It appears all of your acidity wound up in my recent bottle. A bottle on 11/01/21 is exceedingly acidic/tangy.
9/19/21, 11:00 AM - RichEB1, did not get to try it on day 1 as a friend brought this bottle over. But day 2 and 3 this was gloriously open.
7/16/21, 5:44 PM - ".... Delicious." 79 points??!! You are a tough critic! ; )
11/28/20, 12:56 PM - Your tasting note is motivating me to open my last 2000 LB!
11/27/20, 10:10 AM - My condolences!
5/27/20, 3:47 PM - yes, it was screwcap.
4/8/20, 11:02 AM - Sorry to hear this. I've had many vintages and bottles of LVC and have yet to run across an off bottle. Fingers crossed for your future openings!
3/24/20, 9:34 AM - Courtesy of your note, I might open a bottle of this. I will also quote your "U 'n P" descriptor.
2/13/20, 9:07 AM - Yes. Guess I was expecting more tertiary notes (cigar, smoke, etc.).
1/2/20, 9:13 AM - Happy birthday. I have a single bottle left and like you, will be full of sorrow (and joy!) when its gone.
10/26/19, 2:21 PM - Great note and an excellent format for a group tasting. Think I'll use this in the future.
9/1/19, 5:17 PM - I enjoyed and am excited by your review as I'm sitting on a small horizontal of the '07.
12/24/18, 1:25 PM - My condolences to you! If that happened to me, it might bring me to tears. Or at least substantial profanity.
10/18/18, 12:26 PM - John, I too am finding this wine has plenty of life left.
7/19/18, 7:18 PM - So true, this wine + Tri-tip is a perfect pairing!
6/8/18, 7:52 PM - OM42, Agreed. Corton-Charlemagne is like sex and pizza. Its all good but some is gooder than others and Martray is mighty fine.
5/31/18, 2:40 PM - I've just had this last night and your note is spot on. Sounds like this slotted into a great evening. Consider me jealous!
5/9/18, 9:29 PM - That doesn't sound silly, that sounds sensible.
4/24/18, 8:25 PM - A very astute observation comparing this to a SA Chardonnay. I concur and this wine is definitely a crowd pleaser.
4/20/18, 9:29 PM - And I just wake up for work! Even a mediocre C-C is worth waking up for (or going to work.....)
3/15/18, 7:33 AM - I've enjoyed a few vintages of this wine. I completely concur, at this price point it is heads above others.
1/18/18, 7:15 PM - With a note like that, I might just open up my lone bottle for breakfast tomorrow! Now what to pair it with.....
12/2/17, 6:01 PM - Winedupe, I have yet to try the '16 but I will be on the lookout for a few bottles for aunt Ida's next birthday celebration!
11/27/17, 9:19 PM - Sorry to read about this ho-hum bottle. I've had a few fantastic '07s and at least one dud. "There's no such thing as a great wine, only a great bottle of wine." Not sure who said that first but maybe someone who has had a few bottles of the '07 AAlto.
10/13/17, 11:11 AM - My condolences. The few times I've had this it has been magical. It is truly the best wine I've ever tasted.
8/5/17, 10:04 PM - Your tasting note makes me want to open my lone bottle right now! When I do get to opening it, I hope it is comparable to yours.
8/7/17, 4:01 PM - Thanks for recommendation. Duly noted: Holding.
6/9/17, 9:45 AM - MC2, I've had this a few times and I too feel some bottles not quite as good as others. Mind you, I'd rate those "off" bottles between 95-97. The "on" bottles, heaven in a glass.....
2/7/17, 11:02 AM - Wow. And I thought our "good wine with an exciting Super Bowl" line up was good. Very impressive selections.
11/10/16, 10:28 AM - I don't believe this was opened at a tasting. I think it could still do with a decant or an early opening.
8/24/16, 12:39 PM - Your note is making me think about opening this wine tonight! Thanks.
8/20/16, 8:11 AM - CamWheeler, I completely concur on your observations. All other Champagne is competing for silver as this is a runaway gold medal winner (ala Simone Biles of the States in Gymnastics).
5/22/16, 11:15 AM - Sorry to read that you found this uninspiring. Hope my bottles show better. But, oysters and champagne?? Not much can top that!
12/23/15, 11:55 AM - SFBill, I'm with you on your rating. A pairing with oysters and bass carpaccio (sushi??!) sounds truly divine.
11/16/15, 9:50 PM - Not sure if my recent bottle was quite like that but I do like your tasting note!
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
