Quite good cab/merlot blend. Plenty of fruit still but with a number of interesting secondary flavors. In a great spot but should remain good for a few more years.

With about 30 minutes of air, the slight funkiness on the finish cleared up, and the wine was drinking very nicely.

Really stunning bottle of chardonnay. Thick, rich, bursting with flavor while remaining totally in balance with interesting complexity. Plenty of fruit and acidity, with substantial alcohol, but nothing is overwhelming. Wonderful wine.

Popped and poured. Big, rich, and silky. Delicious right out of the gate. Already showing hints of complexity. Anticipate that it will open up nicely with some air. Wish I had another bottle to see how this will be in a few more years.

Dark, rich, fruity, and delicious while still maintaining balance. Ready to go and should be good for several more years at least.

Rich, deep, beautiful wine. Tannins fully resolved. Very well-balanced with alcohol, fruit, and acidity all in great places. The fruit is still strong without being overpowering. Popped and poured; will probably show even more depth and complexity with a little air. Glad I still have another bottle left.

Great vibrant, balanced zin. Glad I've got more. Will be interesting to follow for a few years, but I'm not sure I'll be able to resist opening them right away.

Tight when opened but started to come together nicely after about two hours of decanting when the alcohol and tannins came into nice balance. Still plenty of fruit with some growing complexity. Should go for a while longer.

Drinking very well right now. Not sure it will gain much complexity with further aging, but should last a couple of years in this good place.

Quite good. Well-balanced combination of earth, tannins, alcohol, and fruit, with a hint of sweetness. Maybe some cinnamon and cloves even.

This was spectacular. In a perfect place. Completely integrated. Well-balanced. Just the right balance of fruit, alcohol, tannins. Delicious.

Incredibly bummed that this is my last bottle, but the wine is so good that I'm frankly just happy I had at least a few to enjoy.

Decanted two and a half hours before drinking, and it was still pretty tight. As the evening progressed, it opened up beautifully but still had room to go after being open for five hours. I'd wait at least another five years or so, or decant for even longer. This is such a wonderful wine. Let it show at its finest.

This wine has developed nicely in the last two years. The tannins have resolved, and the wine is well-balanced. Still plenty of fruit. It's in a good place right now.

Decanted for 45 minutes, then enjoyed over the course of three hours. Definitely plenty of life left in this wine. The nose was incredible for the few couple of hours. It started to fade by the third hour, but the wine was quite delicious throughout the evening. Balanced with plenty of fruit left and lots of secondary and tertiary notes. Really quite nice.

Was curious to see how the screw-top closure might impact the wine at age 13. Opened and bottle decanted for two hours. Wine was fine but a bit muted. After another couple of hours, however, the wine really started to come into its own. Flavors got much deeper and fuller while maintaining excellent (or even improving) balance. My conclusion was that the screw-top really did keep everything pretty airtight, which means that decanting is essential for this wine to work well. But, with a proper decanting, this wine is really nice. I have one more bottle and will be curious to see what impact ... if any ... a few more years in the cellar may have. With the screw-top, might not make a bit of difference. We will see!

Dark, somewhat muted fruit, approaching prune-like but not quite there. Alcohol is too dominant on the finish at this point.

Delicious, balanced Saxum, as usual. Still plenty of fruit. The tannins have softened wonderfully, and the alcohol is present but not overwhelming. Will probably last longer, but no reason not to open now.

I just don't get Foley's wines. They're big, but not even necessarily flavorful, and certainly not interesting and complex. I tried 'em; they're not for me. This one was more of the same.

I was shocked at how good this wine is. Was a little concerned as the cork started to crumble, but the ah-so did the trick, and the wine was ready to go from the get-go. Still plenty of fruit, lots of balance, and no hard edges at all. Everything well-integrated, and with surprising complexity lurking behind the fruit. Delightful.

Disappointing to say the least. This wasn't terrible, but there was nothing but wood and dirt on the nose and the palate. Not a hint of fruit. Not corked and the color was fine as well. I just think the wine is a huge disappointment.

Opened the bottle with the screw top; still have the cork closure in the cellar. Hoping that the bottle with the cork will fare better. This was disappointing. Just not much complexity or soul. Fairly undistinguished.

Just a little flat tonight. The earth comes through, but the fruit doesn't do much. Tannins have resolved. Don't think this will get better with more age. It is what it is.

Thin, astringent, and pretty simple. It wasn't bad ... but it wasn't very good either. There are much better pinots for the money.

Pop and pour, and it was surprisingly astringent. More harsh than most Saxum wines, which I generally find beautifully balanced. Hoping this integrates better on Day Two.

At first, I thought this was dead. No fruit at all. But after a little air, it started to show its stuff. Lovely, understated, interesting pinot. Don't wait much longer; drink it up while it is still good.

This wine has retained its amazing freshness and fruit while gaining in structure and complexity. Like so many of the Saxum wines, it's perfectly balanced. I don't see any signs of it losing fruit or oomph any time soon, but, alas, it's my last bottle, so I'll never know!

Disappointing. Lacked complexity as well as a significant fruit profile. Reasonably nice, but not what one expects, or deserves, for the money.
