Savory and pleasantly herbal in style; improved with time in glass. Drank too young. Will seek out more to hold for a few years.

This really turned a corner in the last 6 months and is showing wonderfully right now. Aromas of petrol, stone, citrus, and peach, which all persist on the concentrated palate marked by mouthwatering acidity.

Aromatic nose with green apple, slightly honeyed pear, white flowers, and nutmeg. Palate starts out with fruit and a hint of sweetness, which is promptly whisked away by the racy acidity. Nice wine.

Drank as part of a 1997-2000 Seavey Cab vertical tasting. My second favorite of the line-up (preceded by the 1997). Lots of roasted turning to dried fruit, anise, camphor, and tobacco. Lovely.

Great after an hour; popped at the end of the evening and was closed at first. This is a wine that must be decanted for at least 30 minutes.

Interesting in that it showed more like an Italian IGT or Chianti than a Syrah with tart red fruit, dried flowers and herbs, and a touch of funk. Will try again in a couple of years to see how it evolved.

Perhaps a flawed bottle as it showed very slightly oxidative quality of fig and dried cherry, low acidity, and some flabbiness.

Brilliant in color and concentration with notes of lemon, lime zest, white stone minerality, white flowers, and underripe green apple with a hint of underripe honeydew. Really opened up on the second day and the slightly oily-textured semillon character became more apparent while the wine became more opulent and expressive. Will be better in 3-6 years.
