January 15, 2023 - Double decanted and enjoyed over about 1.5 hours. Light body, very smooth fully resolved tannin. All in nice balance. The fruit and overall flavor profile of is a bit flat and one dimensional. The saving grace and what makes this interesting, is the subtle dusty graphite characteristic which carries into the finish.

October 12, 2022 - After breathing for 4+ hours opened up wonderfully . Based on early reviews of 1990 expected more from Pichon. Still has many years left in bottle to go
In the 92 to 93 range at this point

September 12, 2022 - Quick double decant before leaving for the restaurant. Cork is in great shape. Drinking perfectly in the zone. Lovely, elegant food-wine.

    August 27, 2022 - 29-12-2021 - ZWEDER WROTE:

"In the mature bouquet earth, cedar, some herbs and spices and lead pencil. On the palate the same impressions. Autumn forest after the rain. A slight touch of sweetness and still beautifully fresh acidity. Aristocratic wine which is not a bit too old yet. Just great!"

8 months later: this review is still spot on! I bought 12 bottles as a rookie and enjoy it now being semi retired.

August 26, 2022 - This is one of my go to producers who never disappoints and I'd say that's the same here. Had heard a rumor that the '90 is not up to snuff with the producer and the vintage and maybe that's true, but for me this was still really good and just a treat to get to drink. In a nice spot - it's integrated and yet still bright and fresh. Not sure it's getting better (perhaps that is the point as many 90's are still quite young?). Still, happy to get a chance to try and very happy to see we have a few bottles resting.
