November 10, 2023 - Purchased at auction. Cork slightly raised, fell apart on open. Wine was rough at first with a classic merlot flavor on the front end with a gravely alcoholic back end. With an hour in the decanter, wine is straight singing. Dark chocolate, espresso, tobacco, old school leather from an office 50 years ago smell, a touch of magic marker. Nose is really pungent. Nice. Nicely integrated tannins with a nice rounded frame. Not chewy but great body that carries crazy persistent fruit. A touch of bitterness and alcohol slips through the seams to a low degree on the back end which prevents launching into the stratosphere. A luxurious plushness. Crazy good and a ways to go yet not at all tired.

November 4, 2023 - Tasted blind. You could tell there was a bit of age on this somewhat like me. Muted red berry fruit. Medium tannins. Good crunch. Finish was very long. Still has plenty of life ahead of it and not falling apart anytime soon.

9/21/2011 (link) **** points(Leonetti Cellar Merlot Walla Walla Valley) Closed up tightly at present with bright aromas of raspberry compote, a touch of strawberry, and light spice notes. The palate is dense, lush, and filled with beautifully pure red fruit flavors and exceptionally well-integrated tannins. Lingers on the palate with clean fruit flavors. Give one to two years. 78% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc. Mill Creek Upland, Loess, and Seven Hills Old Block. Aged 15 months in new and used French oak. 14.3% alcohol. 2,471 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.
