December 15, 2018 - Violet in color. 14.3% ABV. Soaring nose of black fruits, molten licorice, Whitman Sampler Box and toasty oak. Plush and silky. The epitome of liquid velvet. Incredibly concentrated. Cassis liqueur, black raspberry and black currants on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Stunning Merlot that leaves no doubt that Leonetti does this variety better than any producer in Washington and perhaps in the US. I'll revisit my last few bottles over the next 2-4 years.

July 9, 2018 - Saved a glass for the next day. Would have preferred to finish the wine the first day.

WAIT UNTIL 2020 to drink last 2 bottles.

July 8, 2018 - Amazing Wash. Merlot. While the wine is powerful...huge red fruit, decent tannin and typical earthy NW Pacific vibe, I will let my last 2 bottles lie horizontally for another couple of years. I think the wait will be worth it.

(Leonetti Cellar Merlot Walla Walla Valley) Closed up tightly at present with bright aromas of raspberry compote, a touch of strawberry, and light spice notes. The palate is dense, lush, and filled with beautifully pure red fruit flavors and exceptionally well-integrated tannins. Lingers on the palate with clean fruit flavors. Give one to two years. 78% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc. Mill Creek Upland, Loess, and Seven Hills Old Block. Aged 15 months in new and used French oak. 14.3% alcohol. 2,471 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.
