  Not decanted. Early on: light leaf green; enough alcohol and glycerin to show coating and 'Kirchenfenster'.
  
  Early projections of scent include rose leaf and peppermint; crispness in the nose and mango follow on.
  
  Crisp acidity shows through the firm body with very little perceptible residual sugar, maybe a bit more than Halbtrocken. Blast of grapefruit zest and white wine tannin; long sweet apple finish.
  
  Needs considerable softening up yet; drink 2014-2019 88/100. More notes to follow--will need a few days to open up.
  
  Obviously the previous bottle was poorly stored at the Grand Finale restaurant in Cincinnati.

  October 10, 2010 - Grand Finale, Glendale, OH 1 750ml $29.00 10/10/20 10/10/2010 10.5 pabv; AP 07 08. This wine was very difficult to drink when just opened, very hard, dieselly, and full of bitter lime peel. The second day it had softened a bit. The color was deeper than anticipated; the nose had the soft neutral creaminess of the classic Badstube, and the dryish mouth was a bit more giving, but still finishing with a somewhat unripe lime-peel. Markus, if this is what you need to do in a hot vintage to make a Kabinett, you'd be better off waiting until the skins are ripe. Even a bit more residual sugar would have been helpful, but this is made (but not labeled) in a Feinherb style. 86/100. Drunk with a nice lobster claw and shrimp Risotto, which it did nothing for; needing more richness to blend with the sauce. A disappointment all around.
