April 11, 2016 - Lush and full bodied. Nose is vanishing. Long finish with strong black fruit and slight leather notes. Yummy but I don't think it will last much longer.

Nose of plums, tobacco, and black pepper.
Very nice mouth feel with the attack led by black cherry and plums, trailing into a nice mid-palate of earth, leather, and pepper. A hint of tar in the mix as well.
Tannins are pretty pronounced. Another year or two of cellar time would help take the edge off. -

June 13, 2011 - Dark purple color, deep and viscous. Distinctive herbal bouquet and an earthy tone with lots of ginseng root, cedar graphite, coffee and tobacco, revealing nice and subtle currant, black berry and blueberry aromas. Full bodied wine with very well-contained black cherry, ripe currant and plum on the attack, structured by a firm backbone of velvety tannin and fresh acidity, leading to a great length, finishing with mouthful of plum fruit, ultra-fine tannin, cedar and vanilla. Drink now or hold. The 06 structure provides great longevity on this wine. Decant for an hour if consumed now.
