June 13, 2019 - My last bottle, and of course the best showing for this wine. Popped and poured, and the still prominent fruit is buffered by meaty, smoky and earthy aromas. The palate presence is quite interesting, with a plush mouth feel, but a totally savory taste. There's fruit, but it's like a dried essence of blackberry, as if dried, powdered blackberry has been sprinkled atop roasted meat wrapped in smoky bacon. Tannins are still hanging in there, but there is plenty of depth to balance. I really wish I had bought more of this so that I could follow it for another 10 years.

August 22, 2018 - Yes! Another excellent showing for the Armagh vineyard designate. No signs of age whatsoever.
Meaty meaty meaty. So much savory action I love it. Dirty blackberries, bacon fat, crushed rocks and purple flowers.
Palate is rich while still remaining light on its feet with awesome acidity making this easy to drink more than a couple glasses. Can't recommend this enough. Could easily go another decade or more. -

March 16, 2017 - Night 1........pulled this bottle to check-in on how the wine is aging. Been 5 years since the last one, and this bottle having been on its side for many years has a nice sediment pattern down the side. Plush, pretty smooth, tarry, with the stems now providing a deep, herbal accent. Some residual acidity and not much structure. In sum, drinking pretty damn solid. 12.7% listed ABV, seems true as a few glasses of this with dinner left me feeling fine. 'Bout 1/2 bottle for tomorrow for another look...........as for Day 2, wonderful aromatics of cracked spice and blood. Tangy red and black fruit, backed up by charcoal, tar and a deep rosemary-like note from the whole cluster. There is a bit of crunch that still lives in the wine but for me it's the right amount of residual structure to keep it all lively and drinking well. Tangy, distinctive, yet also some CA plushness. Very good.

January 28, 2017 - Drinking perfectly now - well balanced, with just a touch of smoke and funk on the nose.
