November 17, 2023 - Similar to prior note. Fine bottle.

May 14, 2021 - I agree with Riesling's comments from 2017. This is a wonderful bottle predominately characterized by dark fruit and bottom. Well integrated and drinking beautifully, with balanced tannins and acidity. I think it has (at least) several more years -- probably not of development, but certainly of enjoyable drinking. Glad I have another two bottles. Wish I had more!

May 19, 2020 - Decanted it this time for an hour. Much better on first sips than the last outing. Still dark bottom dominates. This wine will continue to develop for more years.

April 12, 2020 - Cherry and raspberry on the nose. Dark flavors and fruits on the palate. I think it needs a decant, which we didn't do tonight. Judging from the other reviews, maybe it's past its prime. We'll see. Have a half case left.

The next night it has come together. Much better, more integrated. Still dark and brooding, but showing good fruit and balancing tannins. Rating is for the second night.

June 9, 2019 - I was a bit afraid to open this thinking it was done given some of the reviews, but it’s still damn good. Smoked meat, black cherries, blackberries, cedar spice. Long finish. It probably doesn’t have much life left in it, but if stored properly it’ll drink at this level for the next year or so.
