February 2, 2024 - Big round wine, showing the heat of the vintage. Red strawberry cream. Sweet but balanced with some acidity. Nice fine tannins. Lacks a bit of subtlety.

June 21, 2022 - bottle decant for 7 hours. aroma of red fruits, purple fruits, mushroom, mint, cream. 100% new oak. Pronounced flavour intensity. Mouth coating palate with long finish. But there is noticeable alcohol burning feeling in the finish maybe bc 03 is a hot year? still have aging potential.

October 1, 2021 - Denis Mortet horisontal vintage 2003 Winetasting dinner (16 btls) (Nordsjælland): Tasted 11 cuvees from Denis Mortet vintage 2003 and 5 other domaines for comparison reasons. We are talking about one of the most criticized vintages, but the tasting was a surprise. I gave 90 points or more to 9 out of 11 cuvees. All wines were garnet in color showing the tertiary development stage, but not too much, which I personally find un charming. The winner was Le Chambertin which I scored 97 closely followed by Clos de Vougeot (96). No. 3 was Lavaux St. Jacques (93).

This wine: Medium garnet color: Lots of fruit, blossom. On the palate: High acidity, medium tannins and long finish. Not expected that quality level from Clos de Vougeot. Outstanding and very close to the more expensive Le Chambertin.

November 20, 2014 - Leiden 2 days in Burgundy 2014; 11/20/2014-11/21/2014: Fresh nose, a bit alcoholic but not obtrusive, red fruit, complex tones, crispy, potpourri, seaweed. Taste sweet and savory, red and dark fruit, some mushroom, integrated tannins, lots of concentration. Lovely wine, fresh, not at all heavy and tart as can be expected from 2003 wines.
