April 7, 2022 - Its been a while since I have opened a shiraz, and when purchasing this I was hoping for great things. With previous reviews I was uncertain, hence decided to open it midweek for myself.
Drark inky black, with no brownish tinges hence not showing its age.
Tasting relatively fresh and youthful, acid present but no tanin. Medium to full bodied, dark red fruits with a touch of liquorice. Not overly complex but still enjoyable.
Obviously this wine needs at least an hour or two decant.

December 26, 2020 - Passed its peak and bordering on drinkable. Very disappointing as I was saving it for a special occasion.

For others with this vintage I hope my results are due to (unfortunate) bottle variation or a bottle that was subject to temperature fluctuation before my purchase (from a reputable and specialist store in Adelaide)

December 5, 2020 - Needs two hours to open up. Once it did was very enjoyable. 116yr old vines, an Australian treasure.

May 24, 2020 - Agree with previous tasting notes that this is only good and a bit of a let down for a Block 6. The main thing lacking is that extended complex finish you get with the good Block 6s. I think the initial fruit offering is there but it soon falls a bit flat. Obviously an enjoyable wine but not quite up to the standard its other vintages have set. Will not improve further.

November 25, 2017 - Very nice bouquet and while we decanted it definitely opened up with more air. It had good berry tones and while some tannins it was smooth drinking. This bottle had a stealthen cap while it was almost 10 years old, I think it could have easily lasted another 5 to 10 years.
