March 12, 2024 - Stored in a cold cellar since release. Fill just above neck. Deep colour. Bouquet of black fruits and leather. Medium bodied. Decent balance and length. Definitely St Julien! But lacks elegance and finesse. Will keep for up to ten years but there seems little point as unlikely to improve.

  • Tobinski Does not like this wine:

December 11, 2023 - OMG #105 (Ann Arbor, MI): Modest fruit with astringency and tightness to the tannins that I feel will keep this out of balance for the remainder of its life.

November 15, 2021 - Neil's Langoa Dinner, Hawksmoor. Dark fruit, gravely mineral, some acetone notes as it warms. Medium bodied, dark fruit, vanilla, a but drying on the finish

November 15, 2021 - Neil’s Langoa Barton @ Hawksmoor (Hawksmoor, Guildhall): Quite high toned on the nose. VA. Similar on the attack. A little too frisky for my liking. There’s a decent wine underneath but it’s riddled with VA and it’s hard to get past the acetone.

    December 24, 2020 - A touch worn down.

The cork was in great shape and pulled clean. The nose was funky and earthy that blew off quickly.

The structure is still evident and holds the drink together. Quite light fruit, mostly dried fruit with some coffee grounds, worn leather and wet leaves.

The finish retains some acidity that gives it life and verve. Tannins nicely integrated and only a touch of dryness on the last breath.
