February 28, 2023 - Medium yellow. Gorgeous aromas of bright citrus, orchard fruit, and spice but no secondary aromas. Light, fresh, and pure as spring water. Crystalline orange peel, yellow apple, ginger, cinnamon and a zesty lemon/slate finish which leaves the tongue tingling. What a wine! My only regret is not being able to see this bottle in 20 years when it will be fully expressed.

July 16, 2022 - This was surprisingly reserved aromatically at first, and the color not as deep gold as I would have expected at this age. But the wine opened nicely over the course of a few hours, with ripe peaches and whipped cream, honey and some subtle petrol notes that worked well. I would have liked more minerality and a bit more acidity, but the sweetness was well integrated and the wine had a smooth mouthfeel. I'll sit on remaining bottles and hope for even more complexity in time. A very enjoyable--but not exceptional--showing this time. Rating: 92+

July 14, 2022 - From a friend's cellar, and my first experience with this producer.
Medium yellow color. Faint floral nose at first.
Good viscosity, but a bit closed on the palate initially.
The first hint of tropical fruit on the nose was soon followed by sweet/tart stone fruits on the palate. A mild petrol overlay and bitter undertones added complexity. Was at its best shortly before the wine warmed to room temperature. There was enough left in the bottle for a small glass saved in the refrigerator overnight. It was quite pleasing the following evening, and left me wanting more. The acidity and bitterness were slightly accentuated and the petrol note was diminished. This wine has many good years ahead.

September 18, 2021 - Brad's Belated Big 6-0 Birthday Celebration (Brad & Marcia's Place, St. Paul, MN): Medium plus gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. This was wonderful, bright with fresh cut perfectly ripe peach, ripe apple, dried slate, lively, hints of petrol, just perfect sweetness, very long and energizing on the finish. Pitch perfect, I loved this.

October 25, 2020 - Despite being forgotten for a year in a garage fridge, this was amazing. Youthful color doesn’t seem to have budged in years. The nose is fantastic — marzipan, white peach, lemon curd... on and on. Covers the whole palate. Endless finish. Spectacular showing. Not much else to say. If you have this, count yourself blessed.

March 7, 2020 - The last bottle I opened still seemed a bit young and reserved still, but this one was firing on all cylinders. Absolutely jawdropping Spätlese with classic Mosel fruit and minerality conveyed with all power, depth, and intensity of the vintage, and a powerful acid spine that helps this feel remarkably light. Superb wine. Glad I have several more.

December 17, 2019 - Courtesy of BlueOval. Peach and stone fruit. Rich texture with terrific length across the palate. Drinking very well at the moment.
