March 7, 2024 - Tastes like a nice ripe dark fruit basket sprinkled with pencil shavings.

February 9, 2024 - Agreeable if one dimensional Cotes du Rhone not as much going on as you sometimes find with Coudoulet.

January 16, 2024 - 2 months ago I had a 2016 vintage. Let's see what an older brother can do to my senses .
    An hour in the decanter.
Well, there are wines when you don't give a s#%§t about aromas, flavors, tannins, acidity and other "technical" stuff. You forget about it the moment you take the first sip
And this wine belongs to this category. Highly drinkable with full enjoyment and 7th heaven location đŸ™‚
But because I am at CTI have an obligation to share the basics about this wine.
Very juicy, fresh, at its peak.
The nose is greeted by a symphony of dark fruit, such as black cherry and blackberry, complemented by subtle notes of spice and earth.
On the palate, the wine unfolds with a harmonious balance of ripe fruit, velvety tannins, and a touch of leather. The finish is lingering with soft spice, red fruits, and grippy tannins.
Southern Rohne got 93 points according to the WA Vintage Guide.
    Outstanding. Early maturing and accessible.

    How about this wine?

October 16, 2023 - Perfect ullage, but a deception nonetheless. No mini CdP here, but an old, tired man. (alhough kept in a decent cellar). I hope it is an odd bottle.

July 27, 2023 - Peppery red fruits, a little touch of marzipan and a little rare steak to the nose. Palate has more of the same and such balance; definitely baby C9dP here. Perfect foil for barbecued sausages.

March 21, 2023 - Very nice. It is no longer jammy like it was eight years ago. Very complex and well balanced.

October 18, 2022 - Hugely pleasing as ever. Kirsch, five spice, particularly star anise. Blackberries and raspberries. Some heat. Slightly drying on the palate. Probably not improving. A slightly thin mid palate if one judges it against beaucastel but a staggeringly good wine for the en primeur price.

July 10, 2022 - Perfect condition, in fact more complex and—particularly—more intense than a year or two ago when last tasted. Fairly long finish. Has developed well beyond a fine CdR and shows much of the character, if not quite the complexity, of a genuine Beaucastel.

May 11, 2022 - Last bottle of this delicious wine. Still fresh and alive, with typical coudoulet flavors and profile.
