February 12, 2017 - Decanted and left for an hour. Wonderful nose, fantastic integrated tannins. I want more!
January 13, 2016 - Fading but still drinkable.
April 19, 2014 - This wine is like an aged Bordeaux and has really gotten better with time. It is prime now with plenty of fruit present, the tannins have melted into the body of the wine ... still there, but very soft and approachable. Exquisite.
March 14, 2014 - Still beautiful, great bouquet and a perfect match with literally any food.
December 21, 2013 - I've let this wine patiently sit in my cellar since purchase and just decided to open it after dinner with my closest friends. We decanted it and started in on it immediately and it was amazing. Color is deep and rich, but clean. Every aspect of the wine from the first whiff when the bottle opened to the nose, mouth feel, fruit and finish was extraordinary. The last wine I gave a 100 was the 1989 Beaucastel Chateau nuf DuPape... this one is all of it.
June 1, 2013 - This was part of a half-bottle vertical tasting between the 1999, 2000, and 2001 Cabs. All were truly outstanding - and the half-bottle format did nothing to shorten the life cycle for these great wines.
February 25, 2012 - Too late! Way past it's prime.
October 19, 2011 - Agree with others that this wine needs to be drank - will not hold out much longer. Decanted this for a few hours before starting dinner. Missing some of the trademark distinguishing characteristics of Jarvis wines. A bit musky, however it continued to improve over the course of the dinner and evening. Drank one in September that was much better, this bottle may be a little flawed.
September 4, 2011 - Elegant is the word - very nice wine
February 24, 2011 - Time to drink up .... still needs to be out of the bottle for an hour or so before consuming.
